Formation:

The concept of the Wild Cards was conceived by the man known as the Sword of Justice. He saw the need and the potential for great profit in a professional heroes for hire organization. Once securing financial backing, the Sword of Justice began to put together his new business. Michelle Carver was hired to handle the day to day operations of the team. Feelers were put out for what would be the first of the Wild Cards employees. Major America and the Silver Spectre were the first to be hired, with Psi-Queen showing up just days before the team made its public debut.

The formation of the Wild Cards main team was just the first step in the Sword of Justice's plan. The second involves setting up a temp agency for those with minor superpowers. The Wild Cards can be hired to work as a group or as individuals.

Base of Operations:

The Wild Cards occupy the top three floors of the Fortson Building in mid-town Manhattan. The business offices of the Wild Cards, their training and testing facilities, and employee quarters are all located there.

Membership:

Sword of Justice
Founder

The Sword of Justice is the driving force behind the Wild Cards. Presumably, he is involved in all phases of the operation. In public, Justice comes across as a dashing swashbuckler, but at heart he is a businessman. His hiring of Psi-Queen and Silver Spectre, both of whom have criminal records, is a very questionable move and one that Justice would do anything to prevent the public learning about.

Major America
Founding Member

Backed by the power of his magnetic battlesuit, Major America is the muscleman of the Wild Cards. He thinks primarily about himself and goes out of his way to impress the ladies.

Psi-Queen
Founding Member

Unknown to the outside world and most of her teammates, Psi-Queen is really the villainess Esper in disguise. She adopted this identity to hide from Lady Darkness and joined the Wild Cards to be protected by a large group.

Silver Spectre
Founding Member

The woman known as the Silver Spectre is enigmatic and mysterious. She changes identities as readily as most people do clothes. Spectre is known to Muskateer as Glitter and to the criminal underworld as the talented thief Midnight. She joined the Wild Cards on a lark and does enjoy the financial rewards.

Jet
1st Recruit

Jet is a mutant with the ability to fly at fantastic speeds. In the Wild Cards she serves primarily as a scout and super fast courier. Very little is known about her personally.

Poltergeist
2nd Recruit

Faced with financial hard times, Poltergeist joined the Wild Cards to support her family. Poltergeist has impressive telekinetic abilites but no practical experience in using them in the field. She applied and was accepted as a Wild Card after the invitation for applicants went out.

Night Owl
3rd Recruit

Possessing superhuman strength but only in the absence of light, the Night Owl has found everything she ever wanted in the Wild Cards. The chance to make serious money and become famous at the same time. She can't want for the checks to start rolling in.

Kor Hunter
4th Recruit

Kor is a nobleman from the magically dominated world of Terra Nova. He fled to Earth to hone his skills and find allies in the battle against the evil empire led by Oeramm the Merciless. Kor joined the Wild Cards at the urging of his girlfriend, Night Owl.
