Night Owl possesses superhuman strength, speed, and agility, especially in the absence of light. The density of her skin increases to the point where it can stop bullets. Her eyes can see perfectly normal in the dark. She even heals faster when out of the light.

During the daytime, Night Owl is not as powerful, but she is still as least as strong as a dozen men. Night Owl is considered super human, regardless of the time of day.

Notes:

Lydia's father, Karl Jansen, was a chemist with a love of botany. He desperately wanted to be famous in his field; to have some breakthrough to his credit. To this end, he came up with the odd notion of trying to grow plants without sunlight. This would be a boon to the space industry among many others. Therefore, Karl began his research. His teenage daughter inadvertently drank one of the test serums he was working on and it had a strange, but wonderful effect on her. Lydia gained super powers, but was most powerful in the absence of light. Calling herself Night Owl, Lydia became a heroine seeking the fame and fortune previously denied to her father.

VIPER learned of the serum and managed to capture Lydia. Using her as a bargaining chip, the pair were taken to New York City. The plot was foiled by the intervention of the Huntress and the Scarlet Sabre. Scarlet used her pull in Campbell Industries International to secure Karl a job. Lydia has adventured off and on with the Huntress and once assisted the Avengers in an assault on a DEMON base. She has begun dating Kor Hunter, a member of the Circle.

Lydia has become fast friends with Megan Pierce (Willow Witch from the Circle) and Felina and Helena Kirby (Cat and the Huntress respectively). She is especially fond of Felina and often seeks her opinions and advice. In the wake of the beating taken by the Huntress at the hands of the White Dragon, Night Owl and the Scarlet Sabre teamed up to help the Avengers capture the criminal.

Recently, Night Owl was hired along with Kor Hunter to work for the Wild Cards.
