Sword of Doom # 55 - 56

Sword of Doom #55

The Company rests in the dragons cave. Seeing one of the horses go down, Perrel casts Aura of Comfort on it. The horse recovers. Seeing that mounts cannot take much more of the intense cold, it is decided to return to Karn's fortress.

While the mounts are gathered and herding back toward the arrival point, the ice pillars are investigated.

The pillar holding the keys to the next destination of the quest is broken into. The wooden sticks are removed without much difficultly.

Two more pillars are opened up and their contents removed. Gathering up the treasure, the group heads towards the arrival point.

The climb up to the mountain summit is difficult. Footing remains treacherous.

Upon arriving at the pillar formation, you discover that simply entering the pillars causes the person to vanish in spark of blue power.

When the blue flash fades from your eyes, you find yourselves in the friendly confines of Karn's Keep.

SUBJ: GM Notes (R) FROM: GM Mad 08/15/91 S#: 466375

Your all back at the Keep. Examination will show that the sticks do indeed fit into the pillar.

Examining your loot, you discover that you have 1000 pp, Oil of Etherealness, Potion of Vitality, Potion of Treasure Finding and a Scroll of Protection from Dragon's Breath.

Now what??

SUBJ: Selarin (R) FROM: GrooToo 08/15/91 S#: 40590

"I would not be adverse to any of the potions being given to me." I say Looking at the small pile of treasure. but it is not vital. "I suggest we should relax and research the next arrival point." With that I proceed to my room to rest and then to the library to research the next area and wait for the party decision.

SUBJ: Gathis Ahrla FROM: RAD DWEEBE 08/15/91 S#: 514227

'Back to the keep,' Gathis thinks, and back to the library as well. He quickly reenters the library ASAP, and finds some literature on spellcraft or adventure. He hopes to leave again soon, he gets bored mighty quickly.

SUBJ: Omni FROM: Omni Tuens 08/16/91 S#: 801426

Omni is pleased to get back to the 'safety' of the keep, but organizes a quick check of the premises anyways to make sure visitors haven't arrived in their very short absence. When the potions are uncovered, he simply nods his head. "Go ahead and hold onto the potions, Selarin...we'll just consider them community property until one is used. Let's make sure the animals are ready for our next excursion...we'll wait a day before it."

Once everything is settled down, Omni puts on a big, nice, (dangerous?) smile. "Crandor...Eliza...I need to speak with you two privately. Leave your weapons here."

Spectrum's Comments: Time for Omni to try to resolve this conflict between Crandor and Eliza. I don't expect every character to like every other character. It doesn't happen in real life, so why should happen to gaming? As long as no one was taking it personnally, then I didn't have any problems with conflict between characters. Knowing these two, they were probably enjoying this immensely.

SUBJ: Crandor FROM: GM Falcon 08/16/91 S#: 19022

Crandor gives Omni a puzzled look, but nods shortly. "Just a moment."

He carefully divests himself of the dagger, swords, and such and hands them to Argent: "Watch these for me, will you?"

He then stalks back to Omni. "Ready."

SUBJ: Schar (R) FROM: Schar 08/17/91 S#: 843651

Once back at the keep, I head off to climb up and get out of all this heavy winter gear.

After freshening up, I'll go to the temple to offer prayers to Azrella for our save return.

Before retiring for the night, I'll check up on my patients.

SUBJ: GM Notes: (R) FROM: GM Mad 08/17/91 S#: 843430

No intruders are discovered in the Keep. All appears as it was left. Going post watches? Keep an eye on the road leading down the mountain?

SUBJ: Eliza FROM: Tora 08/17/91 S#: 475145

When we return and Lord Omni asks to see me and Crandor in private without our weapons, I move quickly to Master Perrel. "Master Perrel. Lord Omni wants me to leave my weapons here while he has a talk with Crandor and I. Would you do the honor of watching my father's katana for me?"

If he says yes, I carefully unstrap it from me and hand it to him. I then go place the rest of my weapons in a corner out of the way.

SUBJ: Argent FROM: Enchantres 08/17/91 S#: 469965

'It's so wonderful to be warm again. I don't think I like that place very much. Everwinter indeed!'

Once back at the Keep, I first head towards the kitchen. 'Some nice hot soup should hit the spot.'

I am greatly surprised when Crandor hands me his weapons. 'I--ahm, of course Crandor.' I struggle under the weight of the weapons and finally place them on a nearby table. 'I wonder what that's all about?'

Afterwards I retire to the wizardress' tower to rest. 'According to the tapestries, the next object that we need to seek are silver keys. They lie in a swamp. This trip does not promise to be any more comfortable then Everwinter.'

Spectrum's Comments: At the time this was happening, it had not been revealed, or even decided, that Argent had met Kharyna before, so Argent was played as not knowing much about Everwinter. In reallity, she knew a little and would have known that it had been changed to Neverwinter. Alas, it all still works as they arrived up in the mountains where its cold and there is snow anyway. And yes, Crandor is becoming interested in Argent.

SUBJ: Tristan FROM: FrankP25 08/17/91 S#: 787311

"I do not wish any magic items. I will go rest until we make our next move, which will be pretty quickly I hope. I don't like standing around.:)"

I figure since I've been inactive for a few weeks and I'm only going to be on Q for one more week, there is no reason for me to take anything that would better help another member of the group.

SUBJ: Omni FROM: Omni Tuens 08/18/91 S#: 804507

Omni nods in satisfaction as Crandor and Eliza prepare to follow him. He stops long enough to turn to Arathnasis and ask, "Arath, do you think you could arrange to set up a watch for me? There are certain matters I need to settle right now."

Omni then leads the two into a small, sturdy room in a secluded part of the keep. Once they're both inside, he turns to them and begins speaking.

"I've brought you both here because I need some advice. You see, I have a problem. These two members of my company...our company... simply have trouble getting along. Either one will do something foolish, or the other will say something insulting; the result is that they always end up glaring at each other. Now, we simply cannot continue to function as a successful group this way. That is why I brought you two here, as my trusted advisors, to help me find a solution."

"Should I ignore the problem these two cause of disrupting the company? Should I simply let them go, and let them try to kill each other? Or should I kick one or both of them out of the company? I'm sure that you between the both of you, you'll find the solution for me. But don't let me rush you."

"I want you two to take a little time... think this through and talk it over. In the meanwhile, I'll make sure you're given complete privacy. I'll be back in a little while to see if you've come up with anything for me. And I'm sure, when I open this door again, I won't have a problem. Good luck."

Then, before they can object, Omni quickly exits the room, slams the door shut (locking it if possible) and wedges a LARGE piece of furniture between the door and the far wall. He then finds a comfortable place to take a nap, enjoying the peacefulness, and making a note to check on Eliza and Crandor in a few hours. He'll respond to any queries about them by saying he has them busy working on something.

Spectrum's Comments: Will Omni's plan work?

SUBJ: Arathnasis FROM: Wildchilde 08/18/91 S#: 807435

"Aye Omni, Shall be done" Arath says rather hurriedly as the leader makes off with Eliza and Crandor.

"Perrel, would you take first, Tristan second, Selarian, you get third and I will take the last. The rest of you get some sleep and regain you strength."

While waiting to take his watch and in the time afterwards Arath will attempt to learn some new spells. Mirror Image, Melf's acid arrow, improved Phantasmal force, Hypnotic Pattern.

Spells memorized for the next excursion will be Magic Missile *2, Burning hands, Web, Flaming Sphere.

SUBJ: Perrel... FROM: GM Kill 08/18/91 S#: 834907

Once we return, I quickly start taking off all the extra winter clothing, while the others check for intruders.

I sigh with relief once out of the bulky clothing, before standing and stretching, reveling in the lightness of being so unencumbered.

When Eliza comes up and asks me to watch her Katana, I give her a slight bow.

"I would be honored." I say while accepting the weapon. "I'll take your other weapons to your room if you wish."

If she says she would like that, I'll scoop up her other weapons, and start towards her room while watching her and Crandor head off with Omni.

As I head towards her room though, Arath asks me to take first watch.

"Um...okay, just let drop this stuff off, and I'll head right out." I say before taking the stuff up to Eliza's room, and leaving it on her bed, keeping her Katana with me.

I then head out to watch, and climb the outer wall, where I stretch out some, and keep an eye on everything from above.

Once someone comes out to relieve me, I climb back down, and head to the temple, where I offer my prayers of thanks to Tymora for the luck she granted the party, Schar and myself today.

I also pray for luck for the party, Schar, and myself in the trials to come, while we find the Sword of Doom.

Once finished praying, I move upstairs and take a quick bath, before cleaning my clothes some, and then getting dressed in some of my finest garb.

I then head down to the kitchen, and try to find a bottle of wine, before heading over towards Schar's room.

I knock softly, and wait for her to open the door. If she does, I ask her if she would be interested in joining me to celebrate the fact that we're still alive.

"Let's celebrate living." I say with a smile.

If she doesn't answer, I wander over to the temple to see if I can find her, and if she's not there, then I wander through the areas I think she might be until I find her.

SUBJ: Mastiff (R) FROM: Mastiff1 08/19/91 S#: 16056

"Ahhhh...the warmth." Mastiff says as he removes the winter clothing. He will stretch out for a few moments then retire to the kitchen. He will prepare a meal for everyone. "They deserve a good hot meal. Right Ashes? We drove off a dragon of all things." Mastiff will prepare dinner as well as a dessert.

Afterwards Mastiff, and Ashes his cat will be meditating in the library.

*Ashes you've been cooped up in a pack for sometime, get out stretch and run a bit. Go exploring.*

Mastiff will sit indian style and follow Ashes mentally.*One day Ashes I'll be able to see thru your eyes, and enjoy your scampering with you.*

SUBJ: Perrel... (R) FROM: GM Kill 08/19/91 S#: 812618

"Arath..."I say while heading out to take my watch. "You want to make sure the horses are all right? Get them warmed up some? And take their gear, saddles, and such off?"

"Somebody's gotta take care of the horses."

SUBJ: Crandor... (R) FROM: GM Falcon 08/19/91 S#: 836915

Crandor eyes Eliza coldly. He doesn't attempt the door, guessing at the result.

"I think the underlying problems..", he says quietly, "..are beyond the scope of these talks. You stay out of my way, and I'll stay out of yours. Sound fair to you?"

Assuming the, for him simple solution is accepted, he will sit down and wait rather patiently for Omni. If not, he will remain standing, and tap his foot impatiently.

He is ready for a (H-T-H) attack incidentally, though that shouldn't become necessary. ;)

SUBJ: Selarin FROM: GrooToo 08/19/91 S#: 43289

Putting the potions away safely I look at the locked door and wish that those two could get along together. ]Going then to the shrine of Tymora I will pray for an hour or so and relax in the company of my goddess. Afterwards I will do a search of the library looking for any more information on the areas we will travel into including more maps and such(Ancient History prof..).Then I will just relax until a new solution is reached.

SUBJ: Schar FROM: Schar 08/20/91 S#: 477541

Perrel will find me relaxing with a good book in the library.

"That's something to drink to! Do you have any cheese and crackers to go with it?"

SUBJ: GM Notes: FROM: GM Mad 08/20/91 S#: 822998

Arathnasis's new spell learning's:

You already knew Melf's Acid Arrow, you learned Improved Phantasmal Force and Hypnotic Pattern. Could not comprehend Mirror Image.

SUBJ: Eliza FROM: Tora 08/20/91 S#: 47940

When Perrel offers to take the rest of my equipment to my room, I think for a moment, then hand him the rest. "Thank you. Lord Omni wishes this to be quick and it will save time."

When Lord Omni gives his speech then leaves, I try and figure out who he is talking about. Then with Crandor's comment, I realize who Lord Omni spoke of. When Crandor finishes his comment to the problem, I already see the errors in his logic but don't say a word. I just sit down and begin meditating. If Crandor decides to fight, then I will let him. I will not defend myself.

If I survive till Lord Omni returns, I will speak clear and to the point. If Crandor wishes to interrupt, I stop until he is finished. "Lord Omni. Master Perrel explained Crandor's honor to me. Not being familiar with it, I took offense easily. I can accept what I call his dishonor without killing or threatening him now. His solution of him and I staying out of each other's way, will not work if we are to survive. As for my other actions, until I understand the proper responses I am suppose to give in this culture, I will probably continue, in the eyes of our party, to make a fool of myself. If you feel this is hazardous to the welfare of the group, you may end my services at any time. Until then, I will do my best to bring honor as I see it to you, Master Perrel, the group and myself. I will continue to keep my word that I will not fulfill any teachings I see as right, until I have talked with either you or Master Perrel. Under my teachings, we would not be having this talk now because I was honor bound to kill Crandor or die trying as soon as we returned. Master Perrel has taught me a new teaching to ignore Crandor's dishonor. May this not bring dishonor on you." With that, I await Lord Omni's response.

SUBJ: Argent FROM: Enchantres 08/20/91 S#: 835653

After taking Crandor's weapons, I head to the kitchen and give Mastiff a hand with dinner. I pop into the library on the way to my quarters and see Selarin hard away at studying. 'You might wish to see what you can find about the Savages. That is the place our next destination will take us.'

I then head upstairs for a good nights rest. When I awake next morning it is with renewed purpose. I memorize the following spells: Magic Missile, Detect Magic, Feather Fall, Shield, Web, Knock, Levitate, Lightning Bolt, Wraithform.

That being completed, I head towards the kitchen and place some supplies into a sack; apples, biscuits, etc. Without mentioning it to anyone else, I head to the area we couldn't get to before. (The outer tower from the lirbrary.)

I climb the stairs to I reach the blocked opening. Once there, I cast Levitate and then Wraithform. Floating up towards the ceiling, I search for a crack that I may slip through in hopes of it leading to what is above.

Spectrum's Comments: Anyone think Argent is going to get into trouble?

SUBJ: Perrel... FROM: Count Kill 08/21/91 S#: 12266

"Who needs crackers and cheese, when we can subsist on love?" I say while leaning forward and kissing her.

"You know, you're cute when you're being studious." I say, while motioning to the book. "Anything interesting?"

Sword of Doom #56

The Company has returned to Karn's Keep. The group separates to pursue various interests.

Crandor and Eliza have their "talk" and await Omni's return. Guards are posted, but so far nothing has captured their attention.

Several go to the library to research the next location in the Quest for the Sword of Doom. Based on the map found in Karn's Study, the next location is a vast swamp on the Savage Continent. The map itself has few features, but the ones present appear to be very important. The pillar formation is clearly indicated on the map. Three "X's" are also on the map. One to the North, West and South of the pillars. No scale is given.

Little information is found about the Savages. To summarize, the Savages is a dark and mostly unexplored continent. It is the largest continent in the known world.

(Actually, only the northern tip is referred to as the Savages. South of the Savages is a land called the Kingdom of Celestia. Further south and west of Celestia is a place called the Shadowlands, a land of perpetual night. Legends state that the reason for the endless twilight is the Floating Continent, a huge continent that floats over the Shadowlands, thus blocking out the sun. Mountain ranges, vast deserts and wastelands separate each of these three lands. Smaller inhabited lands are also present.)

What little is known of the Savages can be condensed down to this: It is a hostile place, mostly swamp. Tribes of cannibals are known to inhabit the swamps along with other fantastic creatures. Only the strong or the foolish venture there.

The day passes by and no one has seen Argent since the day before when you returned to the keep.

SUBJ: GM Notes: (R) FROM: GM Mad 08/22/91 S#: 462881

Those who are experienced with tending to horses will note that it will take several days for the mounts to regain their strength. Considering your destination, do you even wish to take them at all?

And what did happen to Argent?

SUBJ: Crandor FROM: GM Falcon 08/23/91 S#: 823292

"My dishonor?", Crandor echoes ominously when Eliza talks to Omni.

He chooses not to add anything at this time. However, a scowl makes his feelings on that matter evident. The matter is far from resolved after all.

He simply waits for Omni to comment.

SUBJ: Eliza (R) FROM: Tora 08/23/91 S#: 842105

At Crandor's quick comment about dishonor, "As I said, in my eyes it is your dishonor. My standards of honor vary greatly from yours. Since everyone follows your honor, I am forced to ignore it because your honor does not allow for understanding while mine does. That is why I make my challenges formal. Gives you a chance to save face or someone else to save face for you. Those that challenged me at the trolls got what they asked for. You could have left me as bait then closed in on them but that was not given thought. My honor is my life. If you can not accept or try to learn my honor as I try to learn and accept yours, then I can not serve to the best of my ability. This only will bring dishonor to those I serve by their choice. My honor is safe for I will be doing my best."

When both of my speeches end, I look Lord Omni straight in the eyes, "My Lord. I have survived alone before. I know where I must go. I would be greatly honored to reach my destination with you as my Lord but I will reach my destination as my family's honor dictates. Your wisdom shall decide my fate." I then kneel with head bowed waiting judgment.

SUBJ: Omni (R) FROM: Omni Tuens 08/23/91 S#: 48770

Omni finally returns to the room where Crandor and Eliza are consulting, and opens the door reluctantly. Looking in, he sighs as he can still feel the tension between the two. He listens carefully to Eliza's words, and observes Crandor's silence. Then he snaps.

"To the abyss with dishonor... for both of you!! If anyone gets 'dishonored' out of this, it's me, being unable to keep a company I lead in line! Instead, it appears that said company is more intent on fighting itself than finding the Sword... what we set out to do, remember?"

Omni then storms out of the room, slamming the door open wide on his way out.

The fighter steers clear of the rest of the company until he can calm himself down...and even then, he avoids both Eliza and Crandor for the time. Eventually, he calls the Company of the Sword together to speak with them.

"In a few days...once our supplies and mages are ready again... we'll be leaving for the next step in our quest. We don't know what we're getting into, so I'll ask again what I asked before-Does anyone want out? Now is time, not later."

When Omni notes that Argent is missing from the gathering, he asks a few questions and sets out looking for her in the last direction she was seen.

Spectrum's Comments: Nope, his plan didn't work.

SUBJ: Eliza (R) FROM: Tora 08/23/91 S#: 22501

When Lord Omni prepares to go find our missing person I step in his way, "Lord Omni, I know you wish to be on your way. I ask one of two favors of you before you go. The first is to release me from my word to protect you and those under your protection. If you do this, I will leave and cause you no more dishonor. If this is not a favorable request, maybe this one will be. May I go with you in search of our companion?"

If Lord Omni okays my first request, I will gather my stuff and say goodbye to everyone. I will then look once more at the maps and the tapestry with the ship. I then set out on foot for the town below.

If he does not okay my first request and okays the second, I will grab my weapons and follow.

If neither of my requests are granted, I search out and find a private room. I then lay my armor and equipment out so it can be quickly put back on if the need arises. I place all my weapons except my Katana down but easily within reach. I then search out Master Perrel. When I find him, "Master Perrel, please come speak with me in private."

I then lead him to the private room.

(Omni do not read farther unless you feel you can role play your decision with your character not knowing the info below.)

When alone with Master Perrel, "You will now get to see a private custom in our culture. I ask that you do not dishonor me for it is the only solution I can give to Lord Omni."

"Please stand here and hold my Father's katana."

I then kneel sideways in front of Perrel. I carefully a mathematically fold a piece of cloth around the new sword I acquired. I then hold the blade in both hand with the blade pointed towards the ground. I then face Perrel, "Do not allow me to dishonor myself by yelling." With that, I place the point of the sword just under the lowest rib and thrust upward.

(Well, Omni did want a solution to the problem. There is the last I can offer him.)

SUBJ: Selarin FROM: GrooToo 08/23/91 S#: 59578

Noticing Argent's absence I go looking in the more out of the way parts of the fortress. TO the point the supposed "unreachable" tower levels and the basement levels. I will try and remain quiet and shadowed during the search. Should I find any clue to her whereabouts I will immediately report it to Omni.

Selarin

SUBJ: Crandor FROM: GM Falcon 08/24/91 S#: 833931

In the deafening silence after Omni's exit, Crandor stands silently.

He quietly walks over to Eliza. There is still a stifling coldness, but it seems to have been replaced.

"He has a point..", he says quietly. "I can put my 'honor' aside for the sake of the greater good.. the Sword. Can you?" He offers his hand with a certain grimness.

Later, when it turns out Argent is missing (do I get me weapons back, Mad?), Crandor will immediately follow Omni, with or without his permission. In the former, he'll advance ahead to scout. In the latter, he'll stalk behind doing an excellent imitation of a thunder-cloud."

SUBJ: Schar (R) FROM: Schar 08/25/91 S#: 790861

"Exist on love? Forgive me, dear, but I'd rather have some cheese and crackers! The book is about natural treatment of injuries. How to mend bones without magic. Very interesting."

When Argent turns up missing, I'll join the search.

"This is a big place, but she shouldn't to far to find. I hope."

SUBJ: GM Notes: FROM: GM Mad 08/25/91 S#: 495390

Several of the Company take Omni up on his offer to depart. They have had their fill with the Sword Quest and are going in search of easier adventure. Arathnasis, Drakkor, Jonathon and Tristan all depart.

The Company searches for Argent. She is nowhere to be found, but her trail does end on the stairs leading to the sealed mage tower.

Spectrum's Comments: Just cleaning house of some former PC's gone the way of the dodo. Never cared to keep track of former PC's, so usually just had then exit the game in one manner or the other.

SUBJ: Omni (R) FROM: Omni Tuens 08/26/91 S#: 797718

Omni is disturbed by the number of people that depart from the Company of the Sword, but bids them well all the same.

"Eliza, if you wish to depart, you have my permission to do so. However, that is not my wish; on the contrary, I currently need as many good swords as I can get. I just don't want those swords clashing against each other."

Omni allows/encourages anyone that wants to to aid in the search for Argent. When he finds that her trail ends at the sealed door, he basically tries everything on it, even if the things have been tried before. (This includes pushing, pulling, knocking, ramming, screaming, kicking, slashing, thrusting, cursing, throwing any liftable objects, pounding, and inspecting the perimeter of the room the door hides, even if that means from outside the keep.)

SUBJ: Perrel... (R) FROM: GM Kill 08/26/91 S#: 804997

"I talk romance, you talk food." I say in a disbelieving tone. "Sigh..."

I put the bottle of wine down on the table.

"I'll be back with the crackers and cheese." I say before heading out, shaking my head the whole way back to the kitchen.

Once in the kitchen, I round up some crackers and cheese, and then trudge all the way back up.

I stop Selarin along the way.

"Women. They have no romance in their souls." I say to him, before shaking my head and wandering off towards the library.

(I'll hold off commenting on Eliza's Sepuku, seeing if she changes her actions based on what Crandor and Omni say.)

SUBJ: Selarin FROM: GrooToo 08/26/91 S#: 822132

When Perrel makes his comment I just chuckle and continue on. With the loss of the others however we could be under strength for fighting and I decide to step up my own practicing to help out. As for Argent I will search the Tower carefully for and thing we might have missed. One thing I will attempt is to get to get to the roof of the tower and try to get in that way. If not I will continue to search for other methods.

SUBJ: GM Notes: (R) FROM: GM Mad 08/26/91 S#: 521590

The area that you believe Argent to have entered does not have a door. If you recall it was blocked by solid stone.

Climbing the tower is possible, but a very difficult task. (Each level of the keep is 30' tall.) The top of the tower is over 150' high! Windows are noted on the upper levels of the tower, but this are opaque sheets of glass placed into the stone. No way to open them other then breaking them.

SUBJ: Crandor FROM: GM Falcon 08/27/91 S#: 521481

Crandor tries something rather simple.

He walks towards the stone wall where Argent's footprints disappear, disbelieving the silly thing based on the fact Argent did indeed seem to walk into it.

So, worst case scenario, he gets his nose bashed in by a stone wall. Or would the worst case scenario be being stuck in the tower? ;)

SUBJ: Schar FROM: Schar 08/27/91 S#: 494485

Noticing Perrel's disappointment, I quickly do some re-arranging while he is gone. Taking several pillows, I scatter then on the floor off in one corner.

When he does come back, I call him over.

"Over here, Perrel. Please, pour some wine and lay down."

The pillows are arranged so that Perrel can lay down, his head in my lap. I place the glasses of wine within hands reach with the snacks.

Once comfortable, I pull out a book I found earlier and begin to read. The book is a translated version of Elvish Poetry. I read the beautiful words for hours and we sip wine and munch on cheese and crackers.

Who said that romance is dead? ;D

SUBJ: GM Notes: (R) FROM: GM Mad 08/28/91 S#: 844783

Argents trail leads up to the filled in opening, but does not enter the opening. (Didn't mean to mislead anyway with the way I worded it.) The stone is indeed real and is hard. One bump for Crandor.

SUBJ: Perrel... (R) FROM: GM Kill 08/28/91 S#: 839814

I shake my head all the way back to the library, wondering what I did wrong, or said wrong, that has made Schar more interested in food than romance with me.

As I enter the library though, my eyes open wide, and a smile crosses my face.

I cross the room over to her, and slowly set down the cheese and crackers, before lowering myself down next to her.

I lay my head in her lap, and listen to her beautiful voice as it flows throughout the room smoothly, reminding me of the feel of smooth silk.

Avoiding the cheese and crackers, I sip at the wine occasionally, as I grow more and more relaxed.

As I lay there, staring up at her lovely face and listening to her words, a tear forms in my eye, and then rolls down my cheek.

Finally, my body relaxes completely, and I doze off to sleep in her lap...

(Guess romance isn't as dead as previously thought. ;) )

SUBJ: Perrel... FROM: GM Kill 08/28/91 S#: 850515

Once the situation with Argent arises, I scan the outside of the tower, and realize what needs to be done.

Getting enough rope to lower to the ground from one of the windows, I sling it over my chest and shoulder, before tying my scabbard to my back, so it doesn't interfere with my climbing.

Then I start up the side of the tower, being very careful as I climb and making no foolish moves.

I climb until I reach one of the windows, which I then try to bust open using the hilt of my rapier.

If it breaks, and I survived the climb, I then crawl in the window, and look for a place to tie the rope before lowering the other end down.

"Argent sure chooses to make things rough on us, don't she?" I say to no one in particular as I climb the wall. ;)

When Crandor offers his hand in peace, I look him in the eyes and shake it, "Warrior to warrior, I am honored to have your blades on my side. In time, we may be able to work everything out."

When Omni releases me from my obligation to him but asks if I will stay, "Omni, I will stay and give you my services. I will also follow your laws while I am here. Now let us find our missing companion." With that I follow his lead.

At the tower, I stand watching the activities. I speak out loud but to no one in particular, "If she didn't walk in, that leaves two other ways. Either she flew or she went underground. Since we have been searching the ground, the later doesn't sound probable. So how could she have flown?"

Spectrum's Comments: That was certianly a much better solution then killing herself.

When Argent turns up missing, I join the others in the hunt.

"What kind of trouble has that mage got herself into now?"

When Eliza remarks that Argent must have flown to get into the tower, I remember something.

"Perhaps she did fly. After all, she did fly when we fought the snow dragon."

My face turns white when Perrel announces that he is going to climb the tower.

"You're what?!? Are you crazy? You could hurt yourself."

Realizing that he is serious and will still try to do this fool stunt, I'll give him a hug and kiss.

"You better be careful!"
