Sword of Doom # 42 - 44

Sword of Doom #42

Crandor and Perrel remain to keep watch on the believed troll-cave while Schar, Gathis and Raith return to the keep.

Their journey passes without incident and they reach the keep. Once there, they inform Omni on what is going on.

At almost the same time, Argent bombards Omni with information concerning the library and the pillars.

Looks like it's time for Omni to make a decision here!

Crandor builds a makeshift shelter and then announces that he is going to look around. Perrel, more then slightly annoyed, follows him silently.

The landscape up here is lightly wooded, but many large boulders cover the mountains side. Crandor finds an approach to the cave without being seen.

He moves into a position a mere 10 feet from the opening. He can smell the stench of trolls. Suddenly, what looks like a leg bone is tossed out of the cave and rolls down the slope. Nothing can be seen in the cave opening.

Perrel watches from a spot 30' behind Crandor and off to the left.

Short post this week. What will you do??

Current Hit Points:

Arathnasis 9 of 16
Eliza 17 of 37

SUBJ: Perrel... (R) FROM: GM Kill 05/09/91 S#: 459972

I follow Crandor silently, mentally cursing rangers who feel that they are some type of deity.

Once he settles down outside the cave opening, I get real nervous.

"Come on, Crandor, get away from the cave opening. Be good for once in your life." I mutter to myself softly.

When the bone comes flying out of the cave, I instantly go on the alert, expecting all sorts of troubles, but nothing else comes out after the bone, so I relax again.

Then I notice that the bone looks awful fresh, and a wave of nausea grips me for a moment.

I fight down the bile threatening to rise, and then lower my head before offering a quick prayer.

"I hope your death was swift, and that your afterlife is joyous and eternal."

I then turn back to watch Crandor, hoping that he's doing the sensible thing, and leaving from the cave area.

SUBJ: Gathis (R) FROM: RAD DWEEBE 05/09/91 S#: 469015

"Omni...huff puff...Trolls! They have a lair or the like in a cave. Perell and Crandor are spying on them." He says, catching his breath.

Gathis is restless for a chance to get revenge on the trolls. HE also likes the thought of exploring the keep, and lending his knowledge.

SUBJ: Selarin (R) FROM: GrooToo 05/09/91 S#: 515829

Hearing of the Trolls I turn to Omni " I think we should deal with them first. After all this fortress isn't going anywhere but those trolls might be."

Then I sit back and ready myself for whatever course of action Omni wants to take.

SUBJ: Raith (R) FROM: Sam92 05/09/91 S#: 510219

(Before this post)

"I begin to see what you mean Schar, there is no use in killing ourselves, we must return to the keep"

(After this post)

"I would say that if the whole group were there we could launch a expedition into the cave, not to take on the trolls, but to find if others are still alive." Raith says, but his eyes read of a deep conflict within him.

"By Mystra and Tymora! I am torn..."Raith begins to weep uncontrollably.

"My greatest friends are dead...and now my friends teachings and beliefs tell me to think before fighting."

(This all occurs in the keep, if we are there yet ;])

"I ask only this...let us find a way to be sure there are no survivors, for if there are, I could not live with myself if I did not try to help." At this he calms and falls to sleep.

SUBJ: Crandor... (R) FROM: GM Falcon 05/10/91 S#: 470914

Crandor does not rise from his squatting position, not wanting to chance discovery yet. His hand edges towards his short-sword as the bone flies out.

The ranger looks down at his hand as if it was a foreign entity, and carefully moves it away.

He takes a look around...

(Anything he can do that might cause an avalanche, or at least a nice sealed opening, Mad?)

If so, he'll implement. If not, he'll continue to watch from his vantage point, oblivious to the cleric 30' behind him..

Or is he?

SUBJ: Omni (R) FROM: Omni Tuens 05/11/91 S#: 414116

Omni smiles in agreement when Selarin speaks. "I agree. The trolls are the most prominent problem, and Crandor and Perrel are already scouting them out. Let us gather our numbers and teach them a lesson about attacking travelers. With any luck, we will also find survivors."

"Your theories prove interesting, Argent. Unfortunately, we will have to wait until we come back to further investigate them. I hope you don't mind...but I don't want to wait any longer on the trolls than we have to."

Omni proceeds to lead a search of the keep in search of flammable materials, especially oil. Once this is done, he will express a worried concern for the wounded, listen to any final comments/objections/advice, and set out to meet with the others.

SUBJ: Schar (R) FROM: Schar 05/11/91 S#: 797733

Once back at the Keep, I help fill in on what is going on.

"I have the feeling that we should hurry. I trust Crandor and Perrel to behave, but... They may get over excited." ;D

When the assault begins, I'll hand near the rear to offer aid to those in need.

SUBJ: Arathnasis (R) FROM: Wildchilde 05/12/91 S#: 832128

"Well if we must deal with these creature let us get it over with quickly."

Arathnasis will head out with the group.

Mad, I think Selarian threw a couple of CLW on me last post, although I could be mistaken.

SUBJ: GM Notes (R) FROM: GM Mad 05/12/91 S#: 790275

Arath: I believe that he healed you before you went into the Library. It's been the same day now for about 1 month, real time. I'll check my records though.

Crandor: You quickly decide that an avalanche would not be a good idea. The cave opening is to near the peak of this mountainside to gather enough boulders. Also, the area around the opening is too steep for any boulders to remain at the entrance. They would just keep rolling down the hill.

Omni: You'll eventually locate a huge quantity of oil in the keep's stores. There is more oil then you could possibly carry.

SUBJ: Eliza (R) FROM: Zynara 05/12/91 S#: 833023

When word of the trolls comes in, I smile and those near can hear me whisper, "A chance to earn my honor back."

With that I go into some serious stretching. When I feel I am warmed up. I pull out my katana and say a prayer while I wait for Omni to give the order to attack. In my mind, 'This sword is my family's honor. May it win back the honor I lost because I could not keep harm from one I was ordered to protect.'

Spectrum's Comments: Anyone think that Eliza is going to cause all kinds of trouble here?

SUBJ: Mastiff (R) FROM: Mastiff1 05/12/91 S#: 433015

"Trolls!" Mastiff shudders at the thought of such vile beast. Mastiff prepares himself for combat. He makes sure that Ashes is safely tucked away in his backpack. *Gods Ashes, Trolls! We're going to fight Trolls! The master would never believe that we were so brave."

SUBJ: Argent (R) FROM: Enchantres 05/14/91 S#: 816826

'I fail to see the significance or the rush to deal with a band of trolls. They haven't bothered us and they have little to do with our quest. I shan't be going along.'

Argent does not happen to mention that she has only one offensive spell in memory! ;]

'Besides, someone has to watch the keep.'

And then off to the kitchen.

SUBJ: Selarin (R) FROM: GrooToo 05/14/91 S#: 459979

As I listen to the others a plan forms "Omni, I could along with someone else, take some oil above the cave. Using my rogue skills I might not be seen or heard by the trolls and after a suitable lure outside I and someone else could drop flaming oil down on them!" That's my suggestion.( If something to that effect has already been suggested I'm sorry it was crowded tonight(tues) and I couldn't read all the posts>:)) If anyone else suggested this Then I volunteer for the oil part. And if I didn't before I do so now and cast Clw*2 on Arathnasis. (ok Mad?) Also I would like to know how That many trolls got together in the first place?! I don't like the way this is shaping up folks!

Selarin

( Man I Hate TrollS!)

SUBJ: Omni (R) FROM: Omni Tuens 05/15/91 S#: 443112

Omni frowns when Argent says she won't be going. "I feel that we have had sufficient provocation for dealing with the trolls...they did, after all, wipe out an entire band of travelers. However, you are free to stay here."

The fighter grabs as much oil as he can, asking others to do so also.

"That's roughly what I had in mind, Selarin. I'm also considering the prospect of setting up a larger firetrap to lure them into...if we can find a way to set it up. If you're interested in helping, I appreciate it."

Sword of Doom #43

Upon learning of the troll-threat, the Company prepares to battle the monsters. Oil is collected and weapons are readied.

Raith, Gathis and Schar lead the group back to where Crandor and Perrel await. By the time the main group arrives, they find Perrel resting in a makeshift windbreaker with Crandor keeping an eye on the troll-cave.

Ashes peaks out of Mastiff's backpack. "No, your master would not believe us to be so brave. I do not believe it either." Ashes wisely buries herself further into the backpack.

Still no activity around the troll-cave.

SUBJ: GM Notes (R) FROM: GM Mad 05/16/91 S#: 823743

You're at the cave now. How do you plan to go about this?? Depending on how quickly this is formulated will determine if I post an update this weekend.

For those of you who haven't stated whether your character is going or not, do so now. As I have it, only Argent did not go along.

Selarin also heals Arathnasis wounds. (Needed only 1 CLW.)

Current Hit Points:

Eliza 17 of 37

SUBJ: Eliza (R) FROM: Zynara 05/16/91 S#: 466450

Eliza is very happy to be brought along on the troll hunt. Since Lord Omni didn't specify an approach to attack and those left to watch the troll cave only report the bone being thrown out, I smile as I draw my father's katana.

In my mind, 'My honor has fallen for failing to protect one I was ordered to guard. Now a new threat is present and I have a chance to get my honor back!'

With that last thought, I walk boldly (Foolishly? :) ) towards the cave entrance. When I have a clear view of the entrance I yell out, "I am here to deal out justice! You have killed and now you shall DIE!"

With that, I again walk towards the entrance with no sign of fear with the katana held ready for any answering to my challenge. If a troll comes out, I will give out my best kiai and charge. If a missile weapon is used against me,

I will move off to the side as quickly as possible and move to the entrance. I will then give my kiai and charge into the cave using all my senses to do what I can.

If anyone happens to notice my movement towards the cave before my call and tries to stop me will see a very angry, single minded, female warrior bearing a very sharp katana turn towards them and wave them off with the tip of the katana.

Spectrum's Comments: Yep, she's going to cause trouble.

SUBJ: Omni FROM: Omni Tuens 05/16/91 S#: 801033

Omni is happy to see the others still in good health when they arrive near the cave. He is quick to ask the advice of both Crandor and Perrel, as they have most thoroughly scouted this ground. "You two have seen the terrain around here...is there any place we can set up a trap for those trolls, involving fire?"

Omni is prepared to go into deeper details (namely that anyone who can attack with a missile weapon, do so), when Eliza makes her bold move.

He barks out as loudly as he dares, "Eliza! No!" And rushes forward to stop her...forcibly if necessary, since if she goes on, she's committing suicide anyways.

SUBJ: Crandor FROM: GM Falcon 05/18/91 S#: 432085

Peaceful...that was Crandor's thoughts right before the party approached. The sun was reasonably warm, a nice change from the cool mountain air. The trees nearby were old, welcome friends. And not far away a hawk cried out its love song as it spiraled after its mate.

His eyes moved back down to the cave at that moment. And his teeth clenched.

The sound of a cracked twig not far away whips the ranger around, swords drawn. He begins to charge, to see his comrades' step forth.

He quickly fills them in (no secret info here, if you read the posts you know the situation) with Perrel's help, and speaks:

"The best way to make a fire-trap is to either wait 'til they're sleeping. This being home and considering their strength and intelligence, I don't think they're going to set up too many guards. And sneak some brush into their stronghold and light it. At the least this will panic them. That is dangerous though. My suggestion would fall along the lines of getting them out of the cave then firing lit arrows at them."

Then Eliza makes her charge, and he gets an idea.

Rushing forward, he grabs her to find a katana in his face. He will react to this with a roundhouse punch..

"Wait til we're ready, THEN go...dying alone is no honor."

SUBJ: Raith (R) FROM: Samuel L S 05/16/91 S#: 421179

(A little name change; I didn't like the "92" after my name.)

Raith is very happy at Omni's decision to move on the trolls. "You have great wisdom noble warrior, I will be...no, I am glad to serve you and you Company."

(GM, please remind me of my spells in memory--I know, I am a horrible player-- :] )

Raith will strongly support the idea of using strategy and not just straightforward tactics (foolishness). He will shake his head and laugh when the "honorable" warrior takes off to deal with the troll(s) herself. "This is the foolishness that gets people killed.

"Dear Mother Mystra, may my lord Omni's plan work," Raith says as he begins to scout with others for a place for the large fire we hope to build.

SUBJ: Arathnasis (R) FROM: Wildchilde 05/17/91 S#: 814872

Arath virtually shouts at Eliza. "There is no Honor among the dead, which is were you will be if you proceed!"

Preparing himself for battle Arathnasis will move up on the cave, he will start by firing 2 arrows at the first available troll target, then he will cast WEB (when he can get more than 3 together) followed quickly by a BURNING HANDS with which he will grab the web encasing the Baddies. Next he will throw his 2 daggers at the nearest enemy and follow that with a Magic Missile. Then his sword and shield come out for real battle.

(I posted my moves for the next few rounds as I may, or may not be able to post next time.)

SUBJ: Perrel... (R) FROM: Count Kill 05/17/91 S#: 506013

The party finds me resting, actually more like sleeping. ;)

I'm laying there peacefully, when the party finds me, muttering things occasionally in my slumber.

"Oh Schar, I never knew you had a mole there." I mumble softly as the party approaches, before I quickly awake with a start.

"Huh? Whuzzat? Who's there?!" I say groggily as I awaken, before seeing the party standing there looking down at me.

"Howdy." I say as I get to my feet. "I was wondering what was taking you all so long."

I quickly look about for Crandor, and when he gets over by us, I help with the filling in of Omni and the others, but leave the majority of it to Crandor, since he's the one with the Ranger skills.

Then I move over by Schar, a smile on my face.

"You all right?" I ask concernedly.

When I see Eliza start off towards the cave, I open my eyes wide, and realize that we have to stop her, but how?

Then I remember just how honorable she is.

"Eliza!" I say softly, but firmly. "If you do not return now, you will be considered dishonored for not obeying your leader. Come back at once."

I hate having to act like that, but she left me little in the way of options. So, I stand there sternly glaring at her until she returns, or starts a combat against them.

If she starts a combat, I'll quickly rush towards the cave opening, trying to figure out exactly what I'm going to do as I do so.

SUBJ: Gathis (R) FROM: RAD DWEEBE 05/17/91 S#: 491781

Gathis tries vainly to hold the lady's hand off of her Katana, but finds his hand pushed easily away. He tries to talk to her, but to no avail. Finally he gives up trying to stop her, and joins her on her way to n almost sure death. He feels it is stupid to die, but even stupider to die alone. He readies his chill touch spell, and takes out his weapon. He tries to get help from any other to go with, but not expecting much. He will unleash his fury on the first troll he sees.

SUBJ: Selarin FROM: GrooToo 05/17/91 S#: 519240

As I listen to Omni unfold his battle plans I look up the hill just in time to see the determined Eliza move towards the cave mouth muttering under my breath I draw my bow and sprint towards Eliza drawing one of my magical arrows and cocking it to the string. As I run I pray "Tymora, Grant your small servant your favor in this struggle and in your favor keep him safe from harm."

Then I get readily to back Eliza up. Saying " I hope you Know what your doing Eliza but I hadn't really planned on dying in bed." The first troll I see I'll put an arrow in and continue until I'm forced to melee then I'll draw my shield and longsword and hope for help from the others. If things look real bad I'll pull back out of range. As I recall the cave isn't big enough for them to come at us more than one at a time. But if the all come out at once then I'm getting out of there!

Selarin

(I could use some back up guys!)

SUBJ: Eliza FROM: Zynara 05/19/91 S#: 811129

For those telling Eliza there is no honor in dieing, "I have no honor now. Dieing without honor is better than living with no honor. And since I lost honor in combat, I WILL regain my honor in combat or die trying."

I will use the flat of the katana to get me released and defend myself from anyone trying to stop me.

(I wonder what a troll looking out the cave will think of this?)

SUBJ: Arathnasis (R) FROM: Wildchilde 05/19/91 S#: 830666

"There is No Honor in causing the Death of your comrades either!""

Arathnasis still will back the lady up if she continues on her quest though.

SUBJ: Mastiff FROM: Mastiff1 05/19/91 S#: 462567

Mastiff looks in shock, as Eliza advance upon the cave. "What is she crazy?" He will move off to the side of the cave, trying to stay concealed. He cast *Sleep* on the Trolls trying to get a many as he can in the area of effect, without sleeping any of his companions.

*You know Ashes, I think we have joined up with some Crazy people.*

Spectrum's Comments: On that point Ashes is probably in agreement.

SUBJ: Schar (R) FROM: Schar 05/20/91 S#: 805404

"I am fine, Perrel. A trifle sore from all this riding, thank you. Yourself?"

[That's funny. I didn't know I had a mole there either!! ;D]

The healer groans slight as Eliza runs up the mountainside.

"My mother told me that there would be days like this. Very well, let us end this threat to those innocents who live."

Taking up my staff, I follow the group towards the cave. I'll attack for as long as no one is seriously injured.

SUBJ: Gathis FROM: RAD DWEEBE 05/20/91 S#: 456876

When the fighter tries to roundhouse Eliza, she must have turned around, so Gathis sees his chance, and goes for the KO from behind, either with his fist or his weapon.

Sword of Doom #44

The Company of the Sword gathers a short distance from the troll cave. Omni proceeds to lay out his plan of attack, but Eliza has ideas of her own. To reclaim her lost honor, she ventures towards the cave and challenges the trolls to emerge.

Horrified, most of the group runs to stop her. Crandor and Gathis catch up with her a mere 20' from the cave opening. Eliza points her katana at Crandor, but he gives it no heed.

Crandor swings at Eliza with his fist, but misses. Gathis follows up with his staff, but he too misses.

Incensed, Eliza strikes back with the flat of her blade. She gives Crandor a tap on his rump, knocking him to the ground. Gathis receives the back swing across the face also knocking him down.

Most of the Company arrives as Gathis creates some dust.

Suddenly, everyone's attention is focused on the cave as several figures emerge.

You have heard many tales of trolls, but these do not match those stories. For one thing, they are much shorter, average out at about 5'6". Their rubbery skin is dirt brown in color. And as you quickly realize, these mountain trolls are just as ferocious as there larger cousins.

Upon seeing the creatures, Arathnasis and Selarin fire arrows. Both connect once.

Mastiff casts a Sleep spell upon the trolls but has no effect.

Eight of these trolls rush the party. One leaps on the prone Crandor and rips into him with his claws and teeth. Another claws Gathis and he goes down.

Another leaps at Schar and bites her. Perrel is not as lucky as one leaps at him. It makes contact and both go rolling down the mountainside. Claws and teeth sink into him leaving his clothes bloodied. When they come to a stop, Perrel is not moving. Drakkor and Tristan take claw damage.

The Company strikes back! Eliza unleashes the full power of her katana upon a troll. She slices it with a mighty strike, but it still advances upon her.

Crandor throws the troll on him off and draws his blades. Both blades strike home wounding the creature.

Omni strikes another troll with his great sword. The troll still stands. Drakkor likewise hits twice with his great sword, but fails to down his foe.

Schar swings her mace, but misses.

Tristan also draws his blades and wounds a troll with his longsword.

SUBJ: GM Notes (R) FROM: GM Mad 05/21/91 S#: 427654

That concludes activity on rounds 1 and 2.

Hit Points:

Crandor 35 of 60
Drakkor 27 of 35
Eliza 17 of 37
Gathis -3 of 6*
Perrel -4 of 21*
Schar 31 of 41
Tristan 10 of 18

Now what??

Spectrum's Comments: This battle was very nasty! Of course the situation with Eliza didn't help any.

SUBJ: Selarin (R) FROM: GrooToo 05/21/91 S#: 396962

Cursing loudly I continue to fire my arrows at the trolls over Gathis and Perrel. " Arath help me drive them off so I can heal those two! Lady Luck your servant Cries for your Aid! Give me your most divine favor! Thus your servant calls!" (I'm using the special spell that you told me about Mad.) With that I drop my bow and draw my Longsword and shield and rush the troll over Gathis. I don't want to Attack the troll with my sword, I want to rush it and knock it off Gathis and maybe down the hill away from us. Risky? You bettcha! But I'm counting on Tymora's Favor to aid me. And Perrel is her servant too so maybe she will help me and help both her servants.

Selarin

(I Think Were in BIG TROUBLE!)

SUBJ: Gathis (R) FROM: RAD DWEEBE 05/21/91 S#: 417355

With a loud curse swings his staff at Eliza, but to his disappointment, a katana comes swinging into his face. Then he notices his swear might have been a little out of place as a troll rips his flesh apart. His final thoughts are, "Why Me? What did I do to deserve this? I just wanted to stop that Eliza from killing herself, and I get this in return? I hopes the gods will take me in as soon as possible."

SUBJ: Arathnasis FROM: Wildchilde 05/22/91 S#: 807831

Arath will cast WEB at any 3 of the Trolls (assuming that no party members will be in the way). Following that up with a BURNING HANDS with which he grabs the Web. The Next round he will fire a Magic Missile, then move in with sword and shield

"Get that oil spread out now!!"

SUBJ: Perrel... FROM: GM Kill 05/22/91 S#: 501414

"No!" I cry as I see the troll lunge onto Schar, just moments before I see a problem of my own landing on me.

"Oooff..."I groan as the troll collides with me.

Suddenly my world is tumbling about me, before it quickly starts to grow dark.

"Tymora, watch over Schar for me."

Is the last thing I utter, before landing in a unconscious heap underneath the troll. My body lies there, arranged like a broken doll, my lifesblood painting the rocks a dark red.

Spectrum's Comments: That was a suitable gruesome post!

SUBJ: Schar FROM: Schar 05/22/91 S#: 833344

I let out a scream in pain as the troll puts the bite on me.

"Get off of me, you smelly toad!!"

I try to whack it, but I miss. ::Sigh:: never was good at combat. My face turns pale as I see Perrel go rolling down the mountainside.

"No! Perrel!!"

I'll try to disengage from the troll attacking me and rush to his side to administer a CLW. Afterwards, I'll protect him until a warrior arrives.

"I'll take care of Perrel, Selarin! Help Gathis. This has certainly not turned out very well."

I'll also use my Hold Person, providing I can get at least two of the critters.

SUBJ: Crandor.. (R) FROM: GM Falcon 05/23/91 S#: 437399

Crandor falls to the ground with a whump. Before he can rise, there's this troll on him.

"TROLLS!", the ranger shrieks, his mind quite gone, "I *HATE* TROLLS!" He throws the troll off of him, and engages with his weaponry.

He pauses long enough to snarl at Eliza "I am holding you PERSONALLY responsible for this. You do not engage trolls from your BACK! Warriors need tactics to survive. You have dishonored yourself now more than ever!"

(And all that while swinging a sword!)

He then concentrates on his new pal.

(2 swords vs current troll)

(If freed, will help someone in trouble..even Eliza. If everyone is relatively stable, he'll draw his bow and start firing.)

SUBJ: Omni FROM: Omni Tuens 05/23/91 S#: 501584

"NO!" Omni is furious at the results as the trolls roll over the party. He cuts viciously at one that attacks him, but realizes the party is losing ground fast as two go down, many others wounded.

"Clerics! Get the wounded and fall back to a defensive position!

Warriors, stay with me but be prepared to withdraw. And let's maim these ugly beasts!"

With this said, Omni shouts as loudly as possible several unpostable comments about trolls while charging forward, counting on the stupid beasts to at least get the gist of what he's saying and concentrate their attacks around him. He'll think in terms of tactics, trying to cut the legs out from under the creatures, then force them down the hill. Fail that, he'll simply bash 'em.

"This is my fault..."

SUBJ: Raith FROM: Samuel L S 05/24/91 S#: 799987

"Daammnn!!"

"Mystra! Be with them!", yells Raith will all his voice.

He begins to turn and run, but grabs a hold of himself.

"By the gods, what am I doing? I ran once when we did not have a chance, but now, I and my new comrades DO have a chance."

"I am an adventurer! To Battle!"

I begin to rush into the fight, but stop short a max Magic Missile range and I blast one of the trolls that endangers the most badly wounded." Die beasts!!"

*"Soul Dagger!"*

As Omni makes his announcement I realize the wisdom of his words and mutter a quite prayer of thanks to Mystra for such a concerned leader.

Raith

(Selarin, I disagree, I think we are in deep [colorful metaphor].)

SUBJ: Eliza FROM: Zynara 05/26/91 S#: 823419

Ignoring the others as they go down and the trolls charge, I use all my strength to cut the troll to pieces. The anger I feel towards those that would stop me from regaining my honor fuel the strength I apply towards my blows. I don't let my anger go totally though, I don't want to get killed making a dumb mistake like that. (For those of you saying I made a dumb mistake already.... :p You may be right.)

SUBJ: Selarin FROM: GrooToo 05/27/91 S#: 822553

Hearing the various cries I attempt to knock the troll on Gathis away from him. Using my shield as a battering ram I'll slam Into the Troll as fast as I can go trying to knock him away. Then if I get an opportunity I will throw clw*2 on Gathis. Otherwise I will just slash at the Troll with sword and hope for the best.

Selarin

SUBJ: Mastiff FROM: Mastiff1 05/29/91 S#: 461659

"Damn!" Mastiff mutters, as his spell doesn't work. His eyes grow wide as he sees my friend go down. Mastiff will move towards a troll with it's back to him and stab it with his sword." Die you smelly creature!" he shrieks. *Ashes, we could be troll food in a minute*
