Spectrum's Comments: Our story picks up from the events of New Crusaders #1-4 and the New Crusaders Soloists files. The LA Knights under the leadership of Areion gather for the first time.
LA Knights #1
Hero Roster: Areion, Starlight, Scarlet Sabre, Warlock, Emerald Knight and Shadow
Two days have passed since the fiasco at the super summit.
At the appointed time, the members of the LA Knights arrive. There is also a last second new member, a man calling himself Shadow.
You spend several minutes chatting about what has happened over the last few days.
A police officer comes rushing out city hall.
'Hey, heroes! There's been some villains spotted over the city! There are four of them. One's been identified as the Black Paladin. He's riding a dragon!!'
'The other is a woman matching the description of the woman who sacked the curio shop last week. Can you help us?'
SUBJ: Shadow FROM: WILD CATS 06/24/90 S#: 58218
I listen to the police officer's reports, wondering what I could do. I decide to go investigate. I walk to where no one could see me and turn invisible. Then, still invisible, I turn into a dragon and soar into the sky, heading to where Black Paladin was last reported...
SUBJ: Setting: FROM: AREION 06/24/90 S#: 474243
As each of The L.A. KNIGHT recruits reach their destination, they find an old stone church looming over them. There are no outside lights making the place seem unnaturally dark. There is a definite air of foreboding about the building, an almost palpable aura of the supernatural. Most of you shudder inwardly as you assure yourselves that it is just your imagination.
The old steel gate squeaks open to allow you entry. You make your way up the path and then the stairway until you reach a large set of oak wood doors.
An elderly gentleman with a far away look in his eye answers to your knocking and leads you down the dimly light halls to a large meeting room. A large wooden table is the dominant feature to this room. There are a number of high backed chairs surrounding the circular table. Heavy purple tapestries cover one wall and a second, smaller one hangs in what looks to be a door or corridor entryway.
Anyone who builds up the courage to peer past the larger tapestry will find themselves looking out a plate glass window covering most of this wall into a darkened graveyard. A thick layer of fog coats the ground, all but completely hiding the tombstones from view. The outline of some above ground structure can be seen in the distance.
This place has a definite old world feel to it. It would be very easy to forget you're in the 20th Century if it weren't for the electric lighting an a console TV.
The gentleman tells you to make yourselves at home and asks if there is anything he can get for you, Perhaps food and drink, before taking his leave.
Several minutes after the last of the KNIGHTS arrive, a door is heard opening then closing, and footsteps echo throughout the chamber, drawing closer until the smaller tapestry is pushed aside as Areion enters the room.
Areion strides into the room and takes his place at the head of the table.
"I'm glad to see you all made it! I believe most of us have already met. Before we begin, I must ask that you speak clearly and face Starlight when talking, as he is deaf. He can read lips but only if he can see them."
"No Jimmy, I haven't forgotten about you! But if we are to function as a team, the first thing we must learn is to be conscientious of one another."
"Let me start by telling you a little about myself. My mother was an arcane sorceress and my father...my father I will not speak of. Suffice it to say that his sins are many! I tell you all of this because I think it's important for you to know the man you've chosen to follow and just what you're getting into. Magic runs strong in my bloodline, and in most cases it has been used for evil. That is why I feel it is my personal calling to battle the forces of evil magic in this world, and I will lead this team in that endeavor."
"I live by the highest of moral standards, and I would expect every member of this team to do likewise. I'm not saying you have to be perfect, just that you have to try like h**l! Without principle, we're no better than the filth and vermin we stand against!"
"There are plenty of rooms available here if you wish to move in. Even if you don't I'd suggest you keep a personal quarters here anyway. I think you'll find the rooms quite comfortable and you're free to decorate them as you wish."
"I want to encourage an open honesty among us. I feel...."
The old man who showed you in suddenly enters the room, walks over to Areion and whispers something in his ear. Areion nods and the man heads back towards the door.
"Formalities are going to have to wait, it seems that we're needed."
A certain police officer enters the room and gives his account.
"The Black Paladin, said to be a dark knight of the first order. Personally I've never met the man, but his armor and mace are reputed to be magical."
"The woman on the other hand is well known to me. Serena, a magic wielding warrior maiden from the Solomic Plains of Hell. Very powerful and VERY nasty! We've battled each other to a stand still on a number of occasions. I...I'll handle her."
"I haven't had the opportunity to work on team strategy as yet, so it looks like we have no other choice than a full frontal assaults. Who here can fly or has access to flying vehicles? Those who can will have to hitch with those who can."
SUBJ: Scarlet Sabre
A sleek, jet like aircraft streaks across the sky. It slows, landing before the odd-looking church. It lands and the Scarlet Sabre hops out.
'Hi, guys!'
Sabre takes the time to hug each of her teammates. She seems excited to be here.
'Nice digs you got here, Arey ... I'm expecting Bela Lugosi to pop out and say 'good evening' at any moment... Sheesh, the place definitely needs a woman's touch. Some curtains and carpeting would be a start. Some paint would not hurt...'
Once at the meeting room, Sabre will sits back and kicks her feet up on the table. She'll as for a Pepsi when asked about refreshments.
'One of those Sorceror types, aye Arey? I'm more technological based, as my Saber and the Sky Sabre will attest too. Me and the Emerald Knight have been talking and I believe that between the two of us and with Warlock's help, we can get this place up to hi-tech par.'
When the cry for assistance comes, Sabre noticeably perks up.
'All right, action! Welp, as you know by now, I've got my Sky Sabre. Let me tell you, this lil' baby can book! Top speed of 250 MPH! Unfortunately, there is only room for one other person, 'sides me and Jamie of course! So, who's gonna be the lucky guy to sit on my lap?' ;)
SUBJ: Shadow FROM: WILD CATS 06/25/90 S#: 839268
As I have said before, I was now flying over the city, still invisible, and still looking for Black Paladin. I finally see him. Wheeling around to get on his rear, I flex my claws. I was not going to use fire, or he might know who, or what, I am. I will only use fire in an emergency. Getting on his rear successfully, I prepare to try to tear him off his dragon after I ram him in the rear...
SUBJ: WARLOCK FROM: DMG 06/25/90 S#: 818268
As I hear Sabre offering a ride I ask if she can give me a lift since I have no other means of getting to the fight. (Do you actually mean on your lap?:>If so I'll suit up and try to extend my Energy shield and use it to block any energy-magic attacks. I'll also tie in my Alpha Wave Receiver to her Radar so she can see invisible HEROS/VILLAINS (if she already can't).
SUBJ: Scarlet Sabre
'Sure thing, Warlock darlin', I'll give you a lift.'
Sabre then takes her teammate out to make the quick modifications on the Sky Sabre.
'Be careful, Warlock, Jaime's kind a ticklish.'
At the jet, Warlock is startled to hear an unseen voice coming out of the jet.
'Who is that? What's going on, Jes? What's he doin'!'
'Calm down, Jaime. It's just Warlock making some modifications. Be nice.'
After that is done, we'll get ready to go.
'Welp, 'Lock, I could always sit on your lap?' ;)

When Sabre comes to give Starlight a hug, he quickly holds up his hands and backs off. There is a look of fear in his eyes.
"Mr. Areion, Starlight can fly, but I think he should only carry me right now. It is a little disorientating not being able to hear until you get used to it. What do you mean I'm not going? Who do you think is going to tell you what is going on and what to do? Areion wants me to go, right Areion?"
Either with Jimmy or without Jimmy, Starlight will fly invisibly to the scene with the other Knights.

You see something in the sky that looks kind of like a flying jet ski with the Emerald Knight aboard.
"Very nice Areion. Oh, if it's all right, I have some equipment on the way."
Near the end of Areion's speech a frown crosses my face.
"Areion believe in honesty, I also believe that as a team we should at least be on the same page morally. What I don't believe in is this 'highest moral standards' that YOU have that we must follow. I have high moral standards also but I will bet that they aren't exactly the same as yours. We are either a team of individuals or we are robots. I will not be a robot."
"It seems this discussion will have to wait. I can take one on my anti-grav sled."

"Ah, you misunderstand me Knight! I didn't mean to say you must live by my standards...but that all of us must strive to be as moral as possible, to do what is right in all things. To find what is truly moral we must look to a power greater than ourselves. But you're right the time for discussion is later."
"With my magic, I can reach flight speeds of over 200 MPH myself." (That's Non-Combat movement of course! ;> )
"Ah...Jimmy, I don't think that would be wise in this case. We're unprepared for this conflict and will be fighting high above the city...I know you want to stay with your brother, but in this case, I'm afraid it's just not possible. You'll be safe here with Thomas."
Areion kneels down to jimmy with his back to the older brother, whispering for Jimmy's benefit he adds:
"Don't worry, I'll take good care of Starlight...I promise!"
"Lets get to it KNIGHTS...hey, where'd Shadow get off to??"

Darn it, Darn it, Darn it, Darn it. I'm coming up on Black Paladin's rear, and my invisibility wears out. I am already on his rear, and he still can't see me, so when I ram him, I'll use fire, bite, and Try to enter his mind to knock him unconscious until I say awake or die.
LA Knights #2
The first meeting of the Knights is disrupted when the team learns the Areion's old foe Serena and several others were spotted flying across the city. Quickly, the team moves to intercept them.
Shadow flies off ahead of the others, but is quickly caught up to. (He's flight is not as fast as some of you.)
After some modifications to the Sky Sabre, Warlock (if he is still willing) and Scarlet take off. The Sabre rockets across the sky. Using the on board instruments, the villains are quickly detected.
This information in turn is related to Areion and too, I assume, the rest of the team.
In lead, upon a demonic stallion, is the woman Areion knows as Serena. Riding with her is a man dressed like the Grim Reaper. He even has a scythe. Following them is the Black Paladin riding on a large red dragon. If you didn't know any better, you'd swear that it was Dragonman of the Crusaders.
The villains are aware of you presence, but continue onward. In the distant hills, what appears to be blue dome nestled in a valley can be seen...

SUBJ: Scarlet Sabre
'We got the enemy in sight, boss man... Now what?'
::Take over, Jaime. Dodge all incoming attacks. One target appears to be Dragon Man. Verify, please. Prepare to open the hatch. Reduce to combat velocity::
Scarlet will hold her actions await orders from Areion.
SUBJ: Shadow (R) FROM: WILD CATS 07/01/90 S#: 438924
Seeing the enemy ahead, I decide to wait and see what Areion wants us to do. While waiting I keep trying to turn invisible, but find I cannot in dragon form. " Sheesh, what a day!" murmurs Shadow.
SUBJ: --AREION-- FROM: AREION 07/01/90 S#: 831081
"Our best bet is to try to separate them, don't let them fight as a team. On my mark, fire ranged attacks up the middle...if you hit one of them, all the better! Then chose an opponent and stick to them...HARD!! Serena is MINE!"
Areion will prepare a full strength Solomic Hellfire spell before giving the order;
"Now!"
After firing up the middle, Areion will fly in to confront Serena directly. (Shifting back to Flight then Mark of the warrior once I reach her. All levels to OCV)
"I thought I left you back in Solomic evil one!"
Areion will use his sword's blunt attack backed by full Str on Demon Steed to try to unseat Serena. If successful, I'll try to subdue her with Solomic Hellfire as she falls (whether successful or not, I'll catch her before she hits.)
If unsuccessful, I'll just engage her directly (full Str Blunt attacks)
SUBJ: WARLOCK (R) FROM: DMG 07/02/90 S#: 826806
If the hatch in Scarlet's plane has room Warlock will set his GRAV-Gun at Max and open fire at the mounts (if that has no effect than at 'grim reaper'. Warlock will also use the Alpha Disrupter to give the dragon and demon a real headache.
SUBJ: Starlight (R) FROM: REM9 07/02/90 S#: 832560
Upon learning of Areion's orders, Starlight will continue on invisibly, trying to fly past the dragon. When he gets there he will let off a flash in the hopes of blinding the beast. He will then, with his force field up of course, fly around the dragon, all the while keep hitting it with energy blasts in the hopes of grounding the beast.

Wraithe will be waiting for the LA Knights to get there. He will wait till the others attack, then ego attack the dragon the guy is riding.
If any of the villains seems to be using an item to attack, Wraithe will use his TK to try to dislodge the item.
He will be waiting in an alley between buildings, and stay there unless the action moves out of range, in which case he will follow, trying to stay out of sight.
(Maybe you could mention the black suited guy hiding in the corner?? Kind of an introduction. Of course, if it seems that the battle is going against the good guys, he might just decide to announce himself.)
Spectrum's Comments: The Wraithe is still playing the hero in hiding. But he'll finally come into the daylight soon.
SUBJ: Emerald Knight FROM: Long Bo 07/02/90 S#: 822859
As I come up on them I slow to battle speed and check instruments. "Power levels good, weapon systems armed, tactical display up."
After hearing Areions orders.
"Great, I'll follow you in"
I aim right between them and fire an auto burst from my gatin gun hoping to separate them.
I then 'cloak' and speed up, trying to get between them before I decloak. Then turn towards the stallion, Serena and the reaper and fire a burst from my plasma cannon.
SUBJ: Shadow FROM: WILD CATS 07/03/90 S#: 3417
Hearing Areion's orders, I will breath fire, trying to hit the Black Paladin. Then, if I connect or not, I will continue to breath fire and try to close in on him. I will then try to grab him off his dragon using my claw and badly mangle him.
Suddenly, I remember there was supposed to be four villains!!
"Hey, Areion, where is the FOURTH VILLIAN!!!!" Shadow yells to Areion.
Post Continued:
The Knights close in one Serena's band. At Areion's command, they fire their ranged attacks, causing the two mounts to separate.
The Sky Sabre, Starlight and Shadow go after the Dragon, while Areion and Emerald Knight take the others.
'It appears to be Dragonman', Jaime mentally relates to the Scarlet Sabre. 'However, I know for a fact that Dragonman is on the East Coast... Wait a minute here... It seems that DM has a brother... He goes by the name of... Skippy?'
(Also, Shadow, the fourth villain is the dragon itself!)
The Sky Sabre slows to combat velocity and the hatch slides open. Pointing her sword out, a beam of energy is shot off of the sword, but it misses Black Paladin.
Warlock ties his luck and succeeds in hitting Skippy with his Grav Gun. The large creature takes minor damage.
Black Paladin turns, flings his mace at the Sky Sabre, but misses the jet. It returns to his hand a moment later.
Areion streaks towards Serena, deflecting a magic bolt from her in the process.
The Emerald Knight's sky ski fades from sight turning invisible.
Starlight, also invisible, suddenly appears before Skippy. He produces a brilliant flash of light, blinding the villain.
'I'll get you for that, you worm!' Skippy roars. A burst of fire erupts from his mouth, projecting out in the shape of a cone. Starlight is undamaged, protected by his force field.
Shadow soars in, blasting Black Paladin with his own fire. Paladin unexpectedly falls from his mount. Scarlet acts quickly, snaring the villain in her energy line.
Enraged, Black Paladin throws his mace again. This time he connects with the Sky Sabre, shaking the craft.
'Good thing Warlock put that shield up, that might have hurt me!' Jamie mentally relates to Scarlet.
Elsewhere, Areion reaches Serena. He slaps her with the flat of his blade, knocking her off her mount. He races after her, missing her with a blast of Hellfire, but catching her in his arms. Words pass between the two of them in an unknown language.
Emerald Knight suddenly reappears, blasting the Reaper with his Plasma Cannon. Reaper is also hit and he too falls from the mount.

'I'll murderize the creep who did that!!'
Gm Notes:
Okay, Areion and Serena are together about 100' below the rest of the battle.
Reaper is currently falling to the ground.
Emerald Knight is near the riderless demon horse.
Skippy is blinded, has a headache and is slightly po'd. He is being annoyed by Starlight and Shadow.
Inside the Sky Sabre, Scarlet has the Black Paladin in tow. Warlock is also along for the ride.

(So much for Starlight's great soliloquy) Seeing Black Paladin fall (and be caught by Sabre) Starlight suddenly becomes afraid for anyone who cannot fly this high up. Feeling that they must bring the battle closer to the ground, Starlight will fly above the dragon and fire a blast, hoping to push the beast to a safer level.

Having an armed enemy in tow is not the greatest thing. I agree with Starlight we should get this battle lower. Therefore I will use the ALPHA WAVE on Skippy if he does no start towards the ground.(If he does I will let up for a little then start again.)I will also fire my GRAV GUN at the Dude with the mean Mace. (It is set so it will hurt him pretty badly and knock him out. About 15G's.)

Areion will continue his dive, land, and set Serena down on her feet. Then he'll take a step or two back, knowing better than to trust his beautiful nemesis.
Turning my attention skyward, I'll Cast an image spell to try to communicate to the others that I want time alone with my archrival.
"So Serena...what brings the foul mistress of The Dark Orb so far from the Solomic Plains?"
My intent at present is to gain as much information as I can. (But, like I said earlier...I know better than to trust her. I'll be prepared to Missile Deflect or block with the sword (levels to OCV) whichever is appropriate.) I also haven't forgotten about Demon Steed. If I should spot him coming in, I'll fry him with an Eldritch Bolt

Once you have Serena in your arms, she speaks to you in Solomic.
'We meet again, my pet. My, you have aged gracefully. Decided to join me after all? Give in your heritage! The blood of Tyrannon flows through your veins! Surrender to the evil in you! Join me and an empire can be ours....'
You feel her will attempting to impose itself on you, but you are resisting... For how long?
Spectrum's Comments: The above was a private mail sent to Areion concern his private conversation with Serena. Boy, she sure is nothing like the Crucible version, huh?

"D*mn." Switching on intercom.
"Sabre, do you or anyone else with you have a way to catch the Reaper? He may not fly."
As I'm talking I am flying towards Reaper just in case.
If someone else can get him I'll follow him down. If not I'll try and fly under him catching him on my sky ski. Obviously as a last resort to stop him from becoming a pancake. :D

Seeing that I have knocked the Black Paladin off Skippy, I will try to blast Skippy with fire. I will dive on him from above to make the attack to try to get him to knock to lower altitude. Otherwise, I will make ranged shots so I cannot be hit.
SUBJ: Scarlet Sabre
'Hey, bozo! Watch the paint job!!'
::Jaime, lock your scanners on Paladin. Prepare to dodge the next time he does that!::
In the cramped quarters of the cockpit, Sabre and Warlock uncomfortable closed in. While Warlock fires his weapons, I keep both hands on my sword. Fortunately, the energy line is supporting his weight!
After seeing Reaper go down and hear EK's message, Sabre will reply:
'No can do, EK. We've got our hands full here. Good luck.'
LA Knights #3
The battle over the hills of LA continues.
Areion lands on the ground with his foe Serena. They appear to be discussing something and wish to be left alone.
Starlight blasts Skippy again, in hopes of forcing down out of the sky.
Skippy roars after being hit and takes a blind swing if a clawed arm in hopes of hitting Starlight, but misses.
Shadow bathes Skippy with fire, but it has no effect on the dragon.
'You'll have to do better than that, little dragon!'
Elsewhere, the Emerald Knight dives after Reaper with his sky ski. He closes on the rapidly plummeting Reaper, managing to over take him before crashing. Reaper grabs a hold and the Emerald Knight pulls up.
An odd feeling comes over the Emerald Knight. His entire body goes numb. He has no feeling what so ever. He feels weak, as if his life was being drained away.
Back up in the sky, Black Paladin is still dangling at the end of Sabre's energy line. Warlock takes aim, preparing to blast the villain.
Suddenly, Paladin vanishes!
The next thing the heroes know, there is a crashing sound. Looking, you can see that Black Paladin is now on top of the Sky Sabre, hammering away at the cockpit glass.
Now What?
SUBJ: WARLOCK FROM: DMG 07/08/90 S#: 816759
First Warlock will concentrate the force shield in a 2-foot radius around the spot Paladin is hitting. 2nd Warlock will teleport outside the jet parallel to where Paladin will be and fire his GRAV-Gun. (on the same setting) No matter what happens Warlock will teleport back into the jet the next second. He will then quickly work on a way to adjust his teleportation device so it can also teleport other things within the limited space.
SUBJ: Shadow (R) FROM: WILD CATS 07/09/90 S#: 10211
"Geez, Skippy's tough," Shadow murmured under his breath. Shadow will race at Skippy and turn human, trying to land where the Black Paladin was sitting. Then, I will attack Skippy, still on his back, with Lightning, a bolt from each finger (ten in all ). Then before he gets his bearings, I will turn back into a dragon, trying to stay on his back, and dig my claws and teeth into him. If he tries to throw me off I will leap off and get high enough to dive on him, this time ramming him.
SUBJ: --AREION-- FROM: AREION 07/09/90 S#: 519956
Areion looks confused for several seconds then grabs his head as though in the throws of some mental fit.
"No! NEVER!!...I'll never give in to that! I won't be like him...I WON'T!!! Stay out of my head, Serena!...I'm warning you!"
With a gesture Areion will cast his Counter Spell on Serena in an attempt to suppress the magical influence she's exerting over him.
"If you don't call off your lackeys so we can talk, you leave me no other choice."
Areion would still like to avoid this confrontation for reasons of his own and find out what Serena's up to, but if she doesn't relent or attacks outright, I really have no other choice. Areion will take the offensive using his blunt attack (Levels to OCV, backed by 30 Strength) after clearly announcing his intent.
SUBJ: Scarlet Sabre
Scarlet lets out a startled scream when Blackie tries to mace my jet.
'Hey, ya big lug! This is an expensive piece of hardware!! Knock it off!!'
::Jaime, prepare to throw that armored twit off!! Hold it! Warlock just teleported onto the roof!! Hold it steady... Prepare to go into a power dive::
Seeing that the combat is now right outside, I'll pop the hatch and climb out on top the Sky Sabre. I'll engage Paladin in some swordplay.

"Uhn...So much for playing it straight. Feels like I'm dying inside."
I go into A quick dive and as I near the ground I give a massive kick to the body of reaper in hopes of getting the reaper AWAY from me. If that doesn't work I'll fire my wrist lasers.

Seeing Skippy's reaction to his last blast gives Starlight an idea. He will fly under the dragon, slightly ahead of him and continue to blast him hoping that the dragon will go lower in his attempts to stop his attacker.
LA Knights #4
The battle against Serena's forces continues.
Warlock activates a gadget and teleports outside the Sky Sabre. He fires with his Grav Gun, blasting Paladin off of the jet.
The Scarlet Sabre fires another energy line from her weapon in an attempt to snag Paladin again. She misses and he plummets to the ground below. He lands with a resounding thud and is still.
Starlight continues to pepper Skippy with energy blasts. Skippy appears to be weakening.
Shadow flies in, changes back to human form and lands on Skippy. Bolt of lighting come from his fingers, further damaging the dragon.
Skippy fires another blast of fire, but isn't close to hitting anyone.
Shadow resumes dragon form sinking his claws into Skippy. Skippy shrieks with pain. Between the wounds and the weight on him, Skippy starts to fall from the sky. Shadow rides Skippy to the ground before flying clear. Skippy crashes and appears dazed.
Elsewhere, the Emerald Knight puts his Sky Ski into a dive and kicks Reaper off. Reaper falls a short distance to the ground, but appears unharmed.
Feeling returns to the Emerald Knights body.
On the ground itself, Areion attempts to suppress Serena's attempts to control him. He succeeds and a great weight is seemingly lifted from him.
The effect of that action is greater then he could have believed. The Black Paladin stands, shaking his head.
'What sorcery did the wench possess to bind me to her will? The Black Paladin is no one's lackey!!'
Seeing himself wounded and outnumber, Paladin teleports away.
Skippy comes to the same conclusion and starts to fly a way. The words, 'I'm outta here!', are heard by all.
Serena is enraged and goes for her sword, but does not attack.
'You fool! Do you realize what you have done?!'
Using her sword, she points to the distant dome.
'There is more going on here than you could possible imagine! Within that dome is the legendary Emerald Eye of Azog! With it in my grasp, absolute power is mine!! They're running some fool contest to determine who is worthy of possessing the Eye. It's mine, I tell you, mine!!'
'Surely you've heard talk of a contest. Surely you've heard about all the missing heroes? They are all imprisoned inside the dome, victims of this bizarre contest!!'
'But with the aid of you and your companions, the Orb can be ours... We shall create a beachhead for our lord... This world and all other like it will be ours for the talking... Ours.'
While Serena is raving on, a stranger approaches and introduces himself as Short Circuit. He explains the he heard about the group and wished to join.
In the distance, another unknown is spotted. It is a man in an all-white, ninja like outfit. He is maintaining his distance.

At last, the sub-plotting running through the entire Crusaders and New Crusaders games has been revealed. Now what are you going to do about??

Not knowing what to make of all this, I will go and land beside Areion and transform back into human form. I will then wait and see what happens.

Areion sheathes his sword and glares at Serena intently, as though considering her offer. He then turns, watching her over his shoulder for several seconds before striding over to the rest of his teammates, motioning for Shadow to follow.
"I've heard of The Emerald Eye of Azog. According to legend, it's a vessel of incredible power, and if what she's said about LA's missing heroes is true..."
"Serena is a capable warrior equal to myself in many ways. Her skill and power may prove to be a great boon to us in that pit of vipers...and it may be that she can get us in undetected. It's a dangerous ploy; Serena's as evil as she is beautiful! I believe we can count on her help...she wishes to convert me to her cause, but she is a treacherous one! If she should EVER get her hands on The Eye!"
"So I put it to a vote...I say we go for it."
Once the team has made its decision, I'll turn and stride back to Serena.
If the vote is yes:
"Alright Serena, a temporary truce then. We work together to free the imprisoned heroes and capture The Eye."
"If, by the time we succeed you haven't convinced me to join you, then we do battle for the prize...one on one...winner take all! If I DO join you then any of these others who assist us will have the same right of challenge in my stead if they so wish...Agreed?"
If the vote comes out no:
"Forget it Serena! I don't serve your lord and I wont allow you to have The Eye! Leave this region and forget the contest or the next time our paths cross I won't be so gracious!!"
As I turn to stride away, I place a cautious hand on my sword, ready to defend myself if she should attack.
Walking over to the newcomer, I extend my hand in greeting.
"Welcome friend, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Areion. My companions are; The Scarlet Sabre...Emerald Knight ...Starlight...Warlock...and Shadow." "The woman is Serena; you'd be well advised to stay clear of HER! You're timing couldn't have been better...we could use your help as you've probably overheard by now."
"If you'll excuse me..."
Having excused himself, Areion makes his way over to the figure in white.
"Greetings...I'm Areion, leader of The L.A. Knights. I assume by your costume and interest in our conflict that you're a hero as well?"

After hearing Serena's tale, Scarlet remains a little skeptical.
'I for one am not a strong believer in magic. Not to surprising from one dealing in technology. However, if it will free the missing heroes, then we must do it. The final decision of course yours, Areion.'
Scarlet will then be silent, awaiting the final decision and how will we proceed from there. She will chat with the newcomers if that is feasible.
::Jaime, scan the dome. Learning everything you can ASAP. Also, keep an eye of this 'Serena'. I don't trust her one bit.::

Starlight reaches into a seam in his costume (one that can not be detected until his hand suddenly disappears beneath the fabric) and pulls out a notepad and pen. He then frantically starts writing, and then when he is finished, gets Areion's attention, places the paper on the ground, and backs away.
"Areion, I too am reluctant about trusting someone who you call an enemy, but if we are going in the dome, this might be the best way. I don't know what you mean by this Eye, but if you feel it is important, I guess we should go in. It is even more important that we enter if there are heroes inside that need our help. Perhaps somewhere in the dome, is the answer to what is happening to the members of the Freedom Squad? Do you wish sir that I turn back invisible until needed inside?"
GM Notes:
I have the voting on whether to join up with Serena at 4 yes, 2 no. While this is going on, Reaper is seen moving towards you in the background.

Wraithe will try very hard not to reveal what his powers are.
If he detects any attempts towards him mentally, he will ego blast the attacker (Except for telepathic communication -- He won't zap someone saying "Hi")
Against the attacker, Wraithe will try to prevent the others from harm, using TK on the villain if he is using any objects (push that sickle at 'em)
If he has to, he will try to confuse him by using mental illusion of his attackers being injured more than they really are.
Finally, no way Wraithe can chicken out!

Seeing the movement, Shadow turns around to see the Reaper. Hearing what he has said, Shadow will immediately attack with lightning. He will doing this until something decisive happens. Shadow will also try to stay as close as possible to Emerald Knight so we can double team the Reaper.

Seeing the Reaper approach Warlock will smile as he pulls out his G.G. and teleport behind him. AT ALL COST HE WILL STAY AWAY FROM HIM(teleporting away).
After the battle Warlock will ask Scarlet if he can remove the devices from Jamie and attach them back in their place while admiring the sleek jet (how many things can He turn into).

Seeing Reaper move to the attack sends a shiver down my spin. I'll keep my distance and let the others do the fighting for now.
'Hi, Wraithe! Don't worry we don't bite! :)
'Not to worry, Circuit. I took no offense. Just took me a little by surprise, that's all.'
Afterwards, I'll assist Warlock in disconnecting from Jaime.
'Ya see, Warlock, Jaime isn't a he... or the jet itself. Jaime is a computer. A living computer. Without going into to much detail, there was this accident and we ended up being connected to each other. We can speak to each other telepathically. Jaime's taken on some human traits while I can perform mathematical functions at an incredible rate. We're sort of a team.'
As she speaks, all present get the feeling that Sabre is extremely proud of Jaime. She speaks of the computer as a living person. Also like a sister.
Spectrum's Comments: Actually, I thought Short Circuit was talking about Serena and not Scarlet. Serena had a higher COM after all.

I'll continue moving toward the witch, ignoring the others present. Once in range, I'll move in and disarm her using my scythe. Stepping forward, I look deep into her eyes.

I turn, and move off into the city, returning to my appointed task.
