Crusaders # 32 - 34

"True Colors"

Spectrum's Comments: With things finally starting to become more stable with the game, it was time to resolve some of the long running sub-plots. The group dealt with the Mechanon plot in the last file. Next on my agenda was the situation with Imperial. He had been a plant in the game from the very beginning that I ran under a different username. Since I was also running Firestar & the Sorceress, it was time to have Imperial leave the game. The opportunity came with Firestar being badly injured in the fight against Mechanon...

Crusaders #32 - "Aftermath"

Mechanon has fallen. Those heroes still standing take stock of the situation.

The newcomer, Nightstalker, uses his powers to render the Prime Machine immobile. (Not necessary, since Mechy will be out a looonnnnggg time. -50 stun!)

He and Ranger have brief conversation, before Ranger spots the fallen Nightengale. He is at her side as she begins to come around.

When questioned about her actions, she shrugs off Ranger's concern as if it meant nothing to her.

While the heroes, free the experiment victims and tend to their fallen companions, PRIMUS arrives on the scene and quickly takes over.

Everyone with the exception of Firestar quickly comes around. Firestar is rushed to the hospital.

Silently, the team returns to the mansion. Nightstalker is asked if he wishes to tag along.

Several days pass and Firestar is resting comfortably in the hospital. Her wounds were great and she could have perished.

That afternoon, you are all called to the meeting room. There you find Imperial sitting at the head of the table.

Imperial - "Glad ya'll could make. Since Ms. Bic is out of the picture, it looks like we need a new leader. Seems to me that I'm the best one for the job. And if any of ya, disagree, you'll have to answer to me and 'my' Crusaders."

Another door opens and several, some familiar, costumed people enter. They are Sundragon, Ultimax, Starshine, Nomad, Plasma Paladin and Backlash.

Starshine walks up to Imperial and puts her arm around him.

Starshine - "You best do and my darling Imperial says. It would be a shame to have to hurt you all...

GM Notes:

An interesting development, no? Looks like we might have a Crusaders Civil War on our hands here...

All the experiment victims were rushed to the hospital, but soon perished. They could not survive the process.

Also, list anything else you wish to do in the days passed over in the post.

Spectrum's Comments: Imperials' actions also explained why so many of the original players had left the group as well. I came to call Impy and his pals the Imperials. They would bug the Crusaders several times over the years.

SUBJ: NIGHTSTALKER (R) FROM: NightStlkr 10/15/89 S#: 416212

"Screw you...WIMPerial!"

::pops out middle energy claws::

"The day I follow a wuss like you is the day I hang it up!"

"Hey babe, why don't you lose that FLAM'IN FRUIT and go for a REAL lady's man like MYSELF! C'mon honey...'TRY JET-BLACK, AND YOU'LL NEVER GO BACK!!'... Think about it." ];>

With an eerie blue glow, the remaining energy claws pop out from NIGHTSTALKERs knuckles and he jumps IMPERIAL, lashing at him (add no STR but shift all levels to OCV).

Over the past week, Malik accepted membership and called his mentor, Audric to fill him in & tell him to pack.

SUBJ: Lord Liberty (R) FROM: REM9 10/15/89 S#: 808391

"Imperial am I to assume by your actions here that you are declaring a mutiny? If this is the case, I will have to ask you to accompany me to the detention area to await the decision of Firestar as to what to do with you. If you do not come peacefully I will be forced to use violence." If Imperial refuses to go peacefully (and unless he has gotten a lobotomy recently I doubt it) Lord Liberty will then turn to Nomad. "Nomad I am pleased to see that you are alright, although I am at a loss to explain why you left us like you did without no explanation. That can wait until later however, please assist me in getting Imperial to the detention center. ... What do you mean you follow Imperials orders now? ... You leave me no choice but to temporarily deactivate you. I am sorry but it is definitely certain that your logic circuits have been tampered with. Fear not when Firestar returns she will repair them. But until then..." Lord Liberty will be using this time to study (Find Weakness) his one time friend. He will then deliver a martial punch try to stun Nomad. If things become desperate Lord Liberty will try to use Backlash as a shield, noting his reflective powers from past experience.

SUBJ: Ranger (R) FROM: Deslock 10/15/89 S#: 814409

Stunned by Chris's response, I move off to aid the other team members and Mechanon's victims. After Primus appears to mop up, I help clean thing up and return to HQ. Over the next several days, I keep busy, working out, on Police work, visiting Firestar in the Hospital; in general avoiding Chris as much as possible. This is merely a delaying action, as I know I must confront her eventually. Waiting for a moment when we can speak privately, I approach her.

"I suppose you've noticed I've been avoiding you lately. I hope you know why, but I fear you don't. I cannot accept your actions in Mechanon's lair, and your flip attitude toward that poor victims life. Your attitude in this affair shows that there is a gulf between us that can never be breached. I continue on as your teammate, but anything more which might have been is over."

Having said my piece, I take leave of the building and lose myself in the crowds of NYC. I eventually find myself in an isolated spot by the Pond in Central Park, sit beneath a tree, and attempt to shut out the world.

Responding to Imperial's summons, I'm shocked by the nature of his demand.

"Not even waiting for her seat to cool, eh Imperial?"

Upon Nightstalker's attack, I turn to Nightengale. "Something's not right here. Scan these 'Crusaders', I have a feeling we're dealing with imposters of some kind."

After that, I move into combat, attempting to subdue these bogus Crusaders, and looking for answers.

SUBJ: STRONGBOW FROM: AREION 10/20/89 S#: 820006

"What arrogance...you think us so week willed that we'll do as you wish simply because you threaten violence!?! Be warned...you'll find your mettle sorely tested. As I've come to understand the courage of these CRUSADERS knows no bounds!"

"And woman...If it would not disgrace me to do so with capable enemies standing at the ready, I'd revel in the opportunity to teach you the error of your 'Beloveds' way of thinking!!"

Facing the motley band of would-be CRUSADERS, STRONGBOW singles out a man in black leather.

"You...white man...I have heard of you. You call yourself 'The Ultimate Warrior' Let us see which is greater...the champion of this corrupt white man's world...or the champion of the natural order!!"

STRONGBOW throws his arms wide to be momentarily consumed by the translucid image of a great black bear (Strength of the Bear). As the vision fades, he draws the most sacred weapon of his people in his trust...his Coup Stick and charges ULTIMAX...a fierce war cry pierces the air.

When he meets ULTIMAX he hammers at him with all his might (Levels to OCV).

If another adversary intercepts him, he'll deal them the blow meant for ULTIMAX before pursuing his primary target.

During the past week STRONGBOW has spent much of the time recuperating from the battle with MECHANON, spending most of this time in the group's spacious back yard.

On the second day after the encounter he hit the streets in search of VIPER activity, a bit disappointed with the lack of leads by the fifth day, he made a couple trips to the hospital to visit FIRESTAR, performing his Power Heal Ritual to speed her recovery.

During the course of this week, he's given a lot of thought to officially joining The CRUSADERS, but has yet to come to any final decision.

Prolog:

Night was coming to New York City and a solitary figure prowled the skyline. She stood on a rooftop wearing an orange and black costume. Her senses searching for something.

There! The trace she was looking for. On the hunt once more, she leaped across the distance between buildings with feline ease.

The outcome of their last encounter shall be much different this time....

Unknown to the woman, another figure was watching her. He wore a black costume, adorned with lightning bolts. Curious as to who this woman was and what she was doing, he followed...

Crusaders #33 - "True Colors"

At the Crusaders Base, Imperial is making his bid for power...

Imperial - "You bozo's got a choice: Follow me or get trashed!"

Nightstalker - "Up yours, Wimperial!"

Plasma Paladin - "It appears that I must put this pup in his proper place."

Starshine - "No one speaks to my beloved like that!"

Energy blasts are fired from Paladin and Starshine, hitting 'Stalker. He is blasted across the room, but is no worse for wear.

Imperial - "Looks like you'll have to hang it up, Jerkweed!"

Ranger - "Something's not right here, Chris. Scan these 'Crusaders'."

Nightengale - "Why should I care about the affairs of lesser beings?"

'Gale rises into the air and starts to float away.

Nightengale - "Those of you who survive this battle can serve me. Under my guidance, we can crush those who are not worthy of my contempt."

With that 'Gale floats out of the room.

Sorceress - "What's with her? Boy, she sure is different ever since she put that headpiece on."

Imperial - "So many questions abound, my nubile beauty, the time for answers will come later. So don't even think about using your magic mumbo-jumbo."

Suddenly, a cocoon of energy surrounds the young mage. She struggles but cannot free herself.

Sorceress - "Monarch! Help me!"

Monarch flies to the Sorceress aid. He grabs the cocoon and attempt to free her. It refuses to budge with his first attempt.

Elsewhere, Strongbow whacks Ultimax with his coup stick, hitting him solidly. 'Max return attack is wide.

Lord Liberty studies Nomad, but cannot spot any weakness in the man. Nomad rushes forward and punch, Liberty. To everyone's surprise, the android throw back over 30' from the punch.

Nomad - "WOW! You were right, Impy. Your people did improve my powers."

Imperial - "Would I lie? Now, let's get these twits!"

Strikeout pulls out a baseball and throws it at Backlash.

Lord Liberty - "No, Strikeout! That is an incorrect course of action!"

The ball ricochets off of Backlash and unerringly strikes its thrower.

Just as the battle is starting to erupt, a window is shattered and a woman in orange and black lands in the room.

'Where is he?! Sundragon, I'm here for a rematch!'

The man in black lands at the window and sees the battle taking place inside...

Gm Notes:

Well, now what?

Hero Status

Name Stun

Lord Liberty 23 of 30
Strikeout 47 of 49
Nightstalker 21 of 42

These totals are after the post 12 Recovery.

And, finally, say hello to the new PC's.

Spectrum's Comments: No, it's not your imagination. That is Tigress making her first appearance anywhere! The second guy was a different story. The Marvel Superhero Game was very popular at this time and before we came along it was the only superhero game system currently being played on Q. Some of the regulars here also played MSH and were in other games. This guy was also active in these MSH games and was apparently intensely disliked by some folks. In fact he was the only player that I was warned NOT to allow into the game. I could see why after a time. For whatever reason, he just seemed to have to take over things. (Ironically, sort of like Imperial!) You can tell who disliked this guy as several people barely even acknowledged his existence. He also only knew MSH and gave his actions in terms of that game system. Typically, they made little or no sense with Champs. The powers were also quite different from system to system, so he tried to use a MSH power and it wouldn't work out as expected. Fortunately, this particular headache was only around for a few months.

SUBJ: NIGHTSTALKER - Malik (R) FROM: NightStlkr 10/22/89 S#: 409158

NIGHTSTALKER leaps back to his feet, brushing himself off. He leans his head backward and lets out a blood-curdling wail that echoes throughout the entire room. He appears to be psyching himself up for a major confrontation.

"ALLLRRIGHTTT...three on one...MYKIND'A ODDS!!!"

(Shift to ENERGY STIMULI & ENERGY CLAWS).

"Not bad, guys...I actually FELT that...but if that was the best you WEENIES can do, YOU JUST BOUGHT THE FARM, 'cause THE NIGHTSTALKER is not planning to hang it up JUST YET!!!"

Malik flies toward IMPERIAL and STARSHINE (& PLASMA PALIDIN, if he's on the same route) at full throttle and does a multiple move-by on them with his energy claws (full STR w/ all Levels still on OCV).

"Think fast, 'CRUSADER CRETINS'!!!"

If anyone tries to attack him before he gets his shots in, he'll abort to a defensive maneuver (dodge, block, or dive for cover; depending on the nature of the attack) and attack normally on his next PHA. If he DOES get hit, he'll use BREAKFALL to land on his feet.

SUBJ: STRONGBOW FROM: AREION 10/22/89 S#: 123963

(( Serve HER!?!? Has this woman not seen what comes of such ambitions!?! One battle at a time))

"A valiant effort, white man, but not good enough. Cease this struggling and I will make the taste of defeat as brief as I may."

((What is that black-skinned fool doing?!? He can't mean to...Spirits, give me strength!!))

Trying to push for an added 10 STR, STRONGBOW hammers at ULTIMAX again (Levels still on OCV) in hopes of scoring a stun or sufficient knockback against the 'Ultimate Warrior'. Once the blow is struck, the bow is off his shoulder, and a green glowing arrow, notched in a flurry of motion (Slot #3, HTH Levels to DCV). With a soft 'THUMM' the arrow is sent speeding towards its mark... STARSHINE. Hopefully IMPERIAL's fury will be such with this assault on his 'Beloved' that he and Plasma Paladin will turn their full attention on him allowing our overzealous friend to attack again from behind (*HINT, HINT*)

At any rate, seconds later the stick is redrawn, and the Strength of the Bear cast once again (Levels back to OCV) and STRONGBOW is ready to pummel all comers!

If STRONGBOW is struck before he can get the arrow off, abort to roll with the punch, and try again.

If at any time, STRONGBOW is knocked back, use breakfall to roll back into a ready position.

SUBJ: Ranger FROM: Deslock 10/22/89 S#: 454939

- What's with... OF COURSE! It must be that damned headpiece that's affecting Chris. How could I have made such a mistake? Too late for that now, it will have to be corrected later. -

- Since none of my energy-wielding friends is going to be able to do anything to Backlash, I'd better tend to that job first. -

I'll leap at Backlash, performing a martial kick, followed with a throw if he's still up and about. After that, I'll move on Imperial, assuming he's still active. If not, then whichever of his cronies is still up will gain my attention, or, if the newcomers appear hostile, whichever of them is causing problems.

- What a day. What next, an alien invasion? -

Spectrum's Comments: The Sorceress dropped that helpful hint in the file.

SUBJ: Sorceress

The Sorceress stands stunned for a few moments, amazed at the gall of this Imperial person.

'Of all the egotistical, moronic... You are a major jerk!'

But, as the Sorceress approaches, she finds herself trapped inside a cocoon of energy and has to bear more taunting from him.

'OOHHHH!!! I've I could get my hands free, I'll give you some mumbo-jumbo right up your nose!'

The Sorceress struggles to free herself, but her feeble strength is no match for the energies imprisoning her. If only her hands were free to cast a spell!

'I need help, Monarch! I can't get out of this stuff! Come on, big guy. Flex those marvelous muscles of yours and get this stuff off of me!'

SUBJ: Firestar

Unaware of the happenings of her teammates, Firestar rests at the hospital. She lies still, her wounds being very severe at one point. But thanks to treatment and healing at the hands of Strongbow, she is well on the way to recovery.

While Strongbow is visiting, she will talk with him. Use the opportunity to get to know this unusual man a little better.

She is pleased with the outcome of the battle, but not the way it came about. Lord Liberty was right. She acted foolishly. I can't do this anymore. I have not the tactical skills to continue to lead these team into the battle. I cannot ask any of them to put there lives on the line at my expense. Yes, there are going to be changes once I am released.

Having made up her mind, Firestar turns the TV on with the remote and watches...

SUBJ: THE SHADOW FROM: BLK NINJA 10/24/89 S#: 837578

::I look into the window, and of course notice the battle going on; On the way here I picked up some bad vibrations from this building, so I had to 'Listen' in::

>>Well, I think it's obvious, which side to take, but, time for an entrance first.<<

::In an unearthly tone, a laugh, coming from all directions at once blares through the building::

[HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!]

::Then you notice, a tall figure clad in black, with lightning bolts up the sleeves and legs, standing by the window ;I draw my blade from it's sheath, my eyes blaze red and I become engulfed in black flames::

:In a cold dark tone:

"Allow me to introduce myself, I am The Shadow. (Hello Stalker)You, 'Imperial' if that is what you call yourself will have some reckoning. It's obvious by your tone that you dont have good intentions.

NOW......let the women GO! Or feel the all engulfing power of the Darkforce!"

::I dodge all attacks at full speed, and return fire with half power E.B. blasts; The darforce should protect me from most magical attacks; If Imp. doesn't let Sorceress go, I use the blade to free her; I then fire full power blasts at Imp.::

:Through mindlink:

>>Whomever is in charge please get your people inline. In order to beat this scum we must be united. To often have I been in uncontrolled battles, and believe me they don't work! Let's take 'em!<<

Spectrum's Comments: And here's the MSH guy I mentioned above. He does a poor Jack O'Lantern impression.

SUBJ: Ranger FROM: Deslock 10/25/89 S#: 813978

Well, that answers one question. At least one of the new arrivals appears to be on our side. Let's hope he swings the battle in our favor.

( Good to see you again, Shadow. No computer skills this go round, Ranger is your basic Martial Artist / Detective. )

SUBJ: Tigress (R) FROM: T1GRESS 10/26/89 S#: 433212

The Tigress leaps through the window flips and lands in a crouched position. She moves with an obvious feline grace. In the moment before she locates her prey (Sundragon), everyone who is looking sees (or after the battle anyway) a young woman with long brown hair. Her mask covers her nose and eyes. It is mostly orange with an inverted black triangle rising from the nose to the forehead.

Her torso is covered by a form-fitting black garment. It is sleeveless and goes over one shoulder, leaving the other bare. It also has a cutout on the right side in the form of a triangle that leaves her navel bare, as well.

She wears sleeve-like items on her arms that reach from upper arm to middle of her forearms. The sleeves are orange with black tiger stripes on the outer sides. She also wears leotards that go down to the middle of her shins in the same orange and black striped design as the sleeves.

To round out the costume, she has a gold tiger head pendant and tiger claw jewelry around her throat, waist, wrists and ankles.

When the Tigress locates Sundragon, she will pause for a moment to try and look for an opening (Find Weakness) and regardless of the result, will spring to the attack. As I am totally unfamiliar with the rest of the assembled group here, I will limit my attacks to that white-clad buffoon. If I should defeat him before the rest of the fireworks are completed, I will look for a safe place and sit back and watch the battle.

SUBJ: Lord Liberty FROM: REM9 10/26/89 S#: 425135

"Strikeout please distract Nomad for a moment. It appears that Sorceress could use some assistance and I feel that we may need her before this battle is done. Stay away from Nomad though, his power level has increased since last we met, and he is now a formidable foe." With that Lord Liberty will rush to the energy cocoon surrounding the mage. He will study it to try and find the best spot do attack the shell. "Monarch, be ready, free Sorceress while I weaken the cage." He will then strike the cage in the hopes of weakening it. He will try to aim his blow as to not hit Sorceress inside.

SUBJ: MONARCH FROM: N4SIR 10/27/89 S#: 814406

"Hold on my dear I will extricate you from your confinement in just a few moments." Shouts Monarch. Monarch will attempt to pry the bonds holding the Sorceress from her.

"Thank you for your assistance milord. Perhaps once the lady is free of this prison we should see to the upstart that is attempting usurp the leadership from our fallen comrade?"

After freeing the Sorceress Monarch will launch himself into the combat attempting to help the ally most in need of his help.

Crusaders #34 - "True Colors: Part Two"

The Crusaders Civil War continues...

In the center of the war zone, the Tigress and Sundragon square off. After a momentary pause by each combatant, they spring to the attack. The Tigress' aim is true. Her fist drives into Sundragon, flooring him.

Suddenly, Ultimax springs at Strongbow. He is somehow faster than he first appeared to be.

Ultimax - "Hold that pose, chief! Here's where I show you what the Ultimate Warrior can do!"

'Max leaps to the attack, but misses.

Strongbow - "A valiant effort, white man, but not good enough. Cease this struggling and I will make the taste of defeat as brief as I may."

Strongbow strikes with all his might, be he too misses. Both foes continue to stalk each other. Both seemingly evenly matched.

At the window, Shadowfire has just appeared.

Shadowfire - "Imperial, it's obvious by your tone that you don't have good intentions. Now, let the women go or feel the all engulfing power of the Darkforce!"

Imperial - "Spare me!"

A blast of energy flies from Imperial's hands. It hits Shadow even as he attempts to dodge it. The force of the blast sends him back outside. After fifty feet he lands on the ground, unmoving.

Imperial - "Where do you people find these twits?"

In the background, Nightstalker charges to the attack.

Nightstalker - "Think fast, Crusader Cretins!"

Starshine - "Like this one, my love? Is this fast enough?"

Starshine connects once more, but this attack is different. A bright flash is seen by 'Stalker before his sight fades away. Temporarily blinded, he is a sitting duck for Plasma Paladin. Once more, Nightstalker flies backwards across the battlefield. This time he goes through the far wall.

Ranger enters the fray, catching Backlash by surprise and dropping him before he can utter a sound.

Seeing his partner fall, Nomad engages Ranger.

Nomad - "You can't do that to my little buddy!"

However, Nomad misses with his punch.

At the urging of Lord Liberty, Strikeout sends a fastball at Nomad. This time it connects and ko's Nomad.

Meanwhile, Monarch and Lord Liberty attempt to free the Sorceress from the entangle.

Monarch - "Hold on my dear. I will extricate you from your confinement in just a moment."

Monarch strains, and succeeds in weakening the energy cocoon. Lord Liberty then shatters it with a carefully placed punch.

Slightly enraged, the now free Sorceress spins and hurtles a bolt of eldritch energy at Imperial. He avoids it easily.

Imperial - "Missed me! Missed me! Now you have to kiss me!"

Sorceress - "What a repulsive thought!"

Imperial - "I'm gettin' tired of playing around with you losers. Surrender or else!"

Gm Notes:

Hero Status:

Name Stun

Lord Liberty 23 of 30
Strikeout 47 of 49
NightStalker 8 of 42
Shadowfire -6 of 35

The combat is currently starting Phase 4. Nightstalker recovered on 3, but can't act until Phase 5. Shadow will recover on Phase 5 and can act in Phase 8.

Of the villains, Nomad and Backlash are out. Sundragon was down for a moment, but is now rising.

Shadowfire, several of the tactics that you wished to use have no meaning in this game system. Telepathy cannot be used in the manner that you wished to use it. It's strictly 1 to 1 communication. Firestar is the team leader and she is currently in the hospital.

Spectrum's Comments: I'm sure that some of the players enjoyed Shadowfire's less than spectacular debut!

SUBJ: Ranger (R) FROM: Deslock 10/28/89 S#: 74649

- It would seem that both the new arrivals are on our side, although one left in a hurry. At least two of our opponents are down now, it's time to winnow Imperial's forces further. Starshine is having far too good a time picking us off from a distance. Let's test her hand-to-hand capacity. -

I'll leap toward Starshine, executing a Martial Throw on her, followed by a kick if she's still conscious. After that, it's time to root out the source of the problem, Imperial.

SUBJ: NIGHTSTALKER-Malik FROM: NightStlkr 10/28/89 S#: 449368

Still blinded, Malik stumbles to his feet. He feels around the wall for the hole and steps through. Falling to his knees and holding his eyes, NIGHTSTALKER begins to speak in a voice that sounds exhausted & rippled with pain.

"All right IMPERIAL...you and your friends have proven yourselves to me... ::Grinding his teeth::...You win... You're the boss...I'll follow you, to the ends of the Earth...The POWER PRIMAL is at your beckon call... NIGHTSTALKER can now be called...your ally...::Cough Cough::

(All the while NIGHTSTALKER will be using his Persuasion skills to convince IMPERIAL of his sincerity and the abjectness of his defeat.)

I'll take forced recoveries during my submission (Re-activate Energy- Stimuli to increase his recoveries) and await IMPERIAL's reactions.

Speaking to his teammates:

"Sorry guys...but...You know what... they say...::Cough Cough::...If you... Can't beat'em...join'em."

SUBJ: STRONGBOW FROM: AREION 10/29/89 S#: 827544

Somewhat taken aback by his so-called 'Teammate's' surrender, STRONGBOW nearly lets his concentration slip. Recovering quickly, his blood begins to boil at the indignation of this disgrace.

"One of our number has fallen, another brings shame to the title 'CRUSADER' by giving up...fa...come then! You will not find a warrior of the Navaho people so eager for surrender!!"

The stick begins to pulse with a green vibrancy. As STRONGBOW drops to one knee ad strikes it to the ground. The green detonates on contact and the floor rocks (I hope) in the aftermath. (s6-ShockWave w/full STR and HA) Ceasing the opportunity his diversion has bough him (again, I hope) STRONGBOW lunges toward ULTIMAX and the stick lunges from his grasp to wind around the Ultimate warrior. While his adversary is thus helpless (For the third time, I hope :> ) he'll try to put a quick end to their battle with two quick strikes from an energized Tomahawk (s2)

HTH Levels still on OCV & remember to use breakfall if knocked back.

SUBJ: THE SHADOW FROM: BLK NINJA 10/30/89 S#: 83690

Ok, it will take a little while for me to get used to this system.

::While falling::

"I hate it when I underestimate my enemies!!!!!!!"

::Unaware of how I hit the ground I'll assume that I either broke my fall with my power or a bush::

"Ow, that didn't make my day! Good thing this suits tough! Well I wont underestimate him THIS time!"

::Once I'm recovered; I sit cross-legged and quickly recite the nine cuts of the Kuji-in, thus becoming invisible; I then draw my blade and......::

"Hahahaha! I've always wanted to do this!"

::I accelerate to full speed and whisk up to the floor right below the battle; then remaining invis., I aim the blade straight to where I think Impy is and I fly bursting straight through the ceiling into the upper room;(The blade should easily cut through);Once there, if I didn't hit Imp., I ready myself for battle::

"I would really like to know, why you want to lead this team, but in these situations, it's best not to ask questions! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

::With that I totally disappear; attacking from all sides, with slashes from my blade and Martial kicks, mainly aimed for the head; This time I will be using my full acrobatic skills to avoid being hit::

>>Hang in there Stalker!<<

What an appearance, huh? hehehe. I forgot a few 'little' new things about myself, like not being able to move past light speed and so on. But this Imperial guy has to go!

SUBJ: Sorceress

Finally free, the Sorceress hurtles her magic at Imperial.

'Next time all get you, you...!!!'

The Sorceress shakes her head sadly at the actions of Nightstaker. This is the guy who wiped out Mechanon? He gets a little bloody nose and he ups and quits?

'Come on, Monarch! Let's settle this issue once and for all!'

The Sorceress will fly forward, and cast Mage Fog at the Imperial and Starshine. (4d6 NND vs. Life Support)

SUBJ: MONARCH FROM: N4SIR 11/01/89 S#: 841378

Monarch will now launch himself into the conflict. "It would appear that we have made our choices Imperial. We will fight your treacherous advances on this teams leadership. It is a shame that your name is not a fitting Moniker for your personality. Perhaps next time you face our collected bodies the name of Lucifer will rest more comfortably upon your lips.":: Monarch will dense up and use his energy blast after the Sorceress casts her spell.::

SUBJ: The Shadow FROM: BLK NINJA 11/02/89 S#: 128295

Since there's no, floor below everyone, let's start over with my moves, once I recover from the blast.

"Ugh, that hurt. Good thing this suits tough! Okay, I underestimated him.......not this time!"

::I become invis. and enter the room; once there I fire random full power blasts from my E.B.s primarily at Imperial, but if someone else is attacking or beating one of the real Crusaders, I'll fire upon them as well ;If I have any actions left I will dodge any attacks and try to close in on Imperial::

To Stalker

>>Keep it up, I'll let the Indian know what your up to. hehe.<<

To Strongbow

>>This is The Shadow, Nightstalker is merely trying to fool Imperial. Play along, it should allow him to get close to Imperial!<<

SUBJ: Lord Liberty FROM: REM9 11/04/89 S#: 836542

"Nightstalker to give in to an enemy before the battle is finished is not logical. I hope that you will rethink this decision. You have come into this group as an ally and I do not wish to battle you as I am now forced to battle those who were once my friends. Strikeout let us see if we can help out our friends here. Please show Plasma Paladin what you can do with a baseball." While Strikeout is attacking Lord Liberty will also advance on his old ally. When he is in range, he will leap and deliver a martial kick to Plasma Paladin to hopefully render him immobile if Strikeout has not done so already.

Spectrum's Comments: Next time: the conclusion of the Crusader's Civil War and the resolution of the Nightingale sub-plot!
