Known Powers:
Maverick is a highly trained normal woman who possesses phenomenal accuracy when it comes to firing her six shooters. Her guns have been upgraded by Centurian to high-tech pistols that can fire a variety of beams such as a stun ray up to a powerful laser. Her lariat has also been upgraded and can be used to shock those touching it, in addition to mundane uses such as using the rope to climb or secure others. Maverick is also skilled in hand-to-hand combat.
Notes:
Staci Ann grew up on the road. Her parents worked in a traveling Wild West show and young Staci got in on the act at an early age. She showed uncanny accuracy with weapons and quickly became a star attraction as a sharpshooter. Staci also trained heavily in riding and roping. In time she took the stage name of Maverick.
Maverick's fame continued to grow as the years passed and the small girl grew into a woman. One day, bandits attempted to rob the western show, only to be stopped by Maverick's sharpshooting when she shot out the tires as they tried to get away. Her brush with heroics changed Staci and she decided to break out of the Wild West show circuit and become a heroine.
Maverick modified her stage costume slightly and added a mask to conceal her identity. Staci trained harder than she ever had before for the task that lay ahead. Maverick's first deeds were small in stature, but the girl continued to make strides and grow in confidence. Her fame continued to grow, as well as the stories about her incredible skill with her six shooters. In time she met other local heroes and hit it off especially well with one. He called himself the Comet and the two began a relationship.
When Captian Lightning and the Sorceress were forming the Superior Seven, Comet and Maverick were asked to join. Comet eagerly agreed, but Maverick needed to be coaxed into joining the group. It was a decision she would not regret as being a member of the Superior Seven gave Maverick an even greater stage. She quickly became one of the more popular members of the team.
At Captain Lightning's request, Centurion modified Maverick's six shooters into less dangerous energy pistols. Maverick was not happy at first, but quickly took to her new guns. Her relationship with Comet continued to deepen and all seemed content in the cowgirl's life.
This all suddenly changed when Comet was brutally murdered while away on a mission. Maverick was devastated and fell into a deep depression. She even considered resigning from the Superior Six, the name the team adopted after Comet's passing. At the urging of Captain Lightning and the Sorceress, Maverick agreed to accompany the two on a stakeout of the Eye Tech Building. A force of Janissary operatives had been plaguing the business and they needed to be stopped. Fighting broke out and Maverick saw her most significant action since Comet's death.
The next night, while Maverick was alone at the Ranch, a VIPER attack force laid siege to the Ranch. Maverick borrowed some of Centurion's more powerful weapons and managed to hold the snakes off nearly singlehandedly. Eventually other members of the Superior Six arrived to lend aid. In the end, Maverick decided to remain with the group since that's what Comet would have wanted her to do.
