  • The living starship, the Zodiakos Kyklos is created by an unknown, pre-progenitor race.

    Before 50,000 BC

  • Ancient beings of great evil wander the Earth. In time, they are imprisoned either in pocket dimensions or bound to specific locations. Collectively, this group is referred to as the Dark Ones or in general as demons. It is unknown who imprisoned these creatures.

    50,000 BC

  • A starship carrying Servitors of the Ancient Ones comes to Earth to investigate its potential for conquest by their masters. Due to an on-board mutiny, the starship crashes in what is now Norway and trapped in the ice.

    30,000 BC

  • The Ancient Ones are all imprisoned or destroyed in a tremendous battle with the alien race known only as the Progenitors. The Progenitors then embark on a campaign to rid the universe of their servants and their influence.

    18,000 BC

  • Progenitors first arrive on Earth, looking for refugee Servitors of the Ancient Ones. While they discover some, the starship in Norway goes undetected. They set up permanent bases to monitor this world.

    17,995 BC

  • Azor is born to a tribe that wanders what is now Europe.

    17,975 BC

  • By age twenty, Azor is master of the largest tribe of Europe.

    17,965 BC

  • Azor contacts some of the imprisoned Dark Ones. In exchange for working on ways to free them, the Dark Ones grant Azor vast power.

  • Using his Dark Ones given powers, Azor transports all his people to another world in another dimension. He names this world Ean.

  • Progenitors leave Earth.

    8275 BC

  • One thousand sorcerers of various dimensions led by one known as Tyrannon of Thulkas, battle and defeat the beings with almost god-like powers. Each of the magicians merges with the power and essence of one of these beings. Tyrannon, however, subjugates and absorbs the power of the most magicians, making him one of the most powerful beings of all the multi-universe. Those that Tyrannon did not subjugate he banished or imprisoned. He begins to conquer all of the dimensions.

    8000 BC

  • On Ean, the leaders of the nine great nations form the Council of Nine. They learn of Azor's plan to free the Dark Ones and overthrow him. While announcing to the public that Azor has achieved godhood, the Council of Nine imprisons the dictator and rule in his place. All knowledge of Earth is supressed.

    3050 BC

  • A portal to the Dimension of the One opens at the peak of Mount Olympus. The entity that comes through is Gaea, the Earth-Goddess, who in turn created Uranus, her husband. The two beings turn the dimension that they came from into a city for their offspring: Olympus.

    2930 BC

  • By this time, the twelve Titans are all born of Uranus and Gaea. Uranus banishes them to Tartus for fear they would overthrow him.

    2565 BC

  • Gaea releases her son, Cronos, from Tartarus. He, in turn, releases his siblings and overthrows Uranus. He marries his sister Rhea and assumes control of Olympus.

    2430 BC

  • A Neolithic shaman in Britain unites the earth spirit and a shipwrecked alien android to become Gog-Magog.

    2100 BC

  • Celtic seafarers discover the islands south of Britain that were settled by the Progenitors. Many of the machines are activated (mostly by accident). Some of the Celts have their psychic potentials enhanced or actualized.

    1910 BC

  • The Fomori, demons of winter, are accidentally unleashed upon Britain when a portal created by the sorcerer-scientists of the southern islands (called the Fair West). Great wars and battles take place to defend the Earth against these demons, but the Fomori are more powerful then the humans.

    1908 BC

  • The Progenitor starship Danu senses the appearance of the Fomori and the reactivation of the devices and travels to Earth. It closes the portals and grants various humans great power to fight the demons in exchange for the people's service and allegiance to Danu.

    1905 BC

  • Danu dictates that the islands of the Fair Wind must be removed so that such an accident does not happen again. The islands of Avalon, Tiran Og and Hy Breasil and their civilizations are transferred to pocket dimensions, while Lyonesse is sunk and it's people transformed into water-breathing beings.

    1903 BC

  • Danu becomes dormant in orbit beyond the moon, cloaked from detection.

    1897 BC

  • Atlantis is settled.

    1575 BC

  • Zeus, the leader of the Greek gods, slays his father Cronus, banishing his soul to Tartarus. Thus begins the reign of the Olympian gods.

    1401 BC

  • Amazons invade Atlantis, but are repelled.

    1397 BC

  • Atlantis wars against Athens. For the first time Atlantis is defeated.

    1383 BC

  • The Minotaur is born as a result of a mating between the god Zeus and the human Europa.

    1385 BC

  • The Great Upheaval destroys the island of Atlantis and the city sinks beneath the waves. The Atlantians adapt to living underwater.

    1163 BC

  • The Minotaur befriends Drynnan Illar, one of the satyrs of legend. They found the group the Zodiac.

    234 BC

  • The Titans free Cronus from Tartarus and magically trap Zeus. The Olympians seal the portal between Earth and Olympus, to save the Earth from the Titans and so that the Titans could not use the Earth to gain more power. Zeus is eventually freed, and a great war ensues, resulting in the death of all the Titans, save for Gaea who did not participate in the revolt. The Gods remained trapped in Olympus, however, because their powers were so drained.

    54 BC

  • Roman Conquests cut off all contact that the "lost lands" (Avalon, Lyonesse, etc.) have with Britain.

  • The Sea People are persecuted by the Poseidonists, a religious faction in Atlantis.

  • King Araltus of Atlantis decrees a halt to the killing of the Sea People. The Elemental Church becomes the primary faith.

  • The alien entities known as the Pantheon, who had been posing as Roman Gods, grow tired of Earth and leave it to find another world to exploit.

  • The Atlantians uncover the existence of the Leviathan. The creature nearly destroys the city before a way is found to drive it off.

  • Nimue of Lyonesse (the Lady of the Lake) teaches the wizard Merlin.

  • Merlin helps Artorius (Arthur), a rising war chief, to become the king of Britain with the aid of a sword, Excalibur, a Lyonesse technological artifact which was bound to Artorius psychically. He establishes Camelot.

  • Merlin, dying of radiation poisoning after working on Excalibur for long periods, has his mind transferred into a Lyonesse computer by Nimue.

  • Morganna, sister of Artorius, trained in Avalon, turns against Camelot. Morganna and her son Mordred fight many battles against Artorius, with Morganna finally emerging victorious, although Mordred was slain. Morganna exiled herself to Avalon. The forces of Mordred attacked the Lyonesse, but were repelled at an extreme expenditure of the islands power source. Nimue telepathically asked the dying Artorius for Excalibur back to use it as a power source. He agrees.

  • Black Paladin is "killed" by Lancelot, formerly of Camelot, but is preserved in a sort of sleep by his lover, the witch Elspeth.

    1425

  • Drynnan Illar (now known as Capricorn) hears of a witch (a direct descendant of Black Paladin and Elspeth) being tried in London. He travels there to learn more.

    1437

  • Capricorn battles Stephen Masterson, the son of the witch. Capricorn defeats him after causing massive damage to the British countryside. Reluctantly, Stephen becomes Aquarius.

    1608

  • The Minotaur (Taurus) contacts and befriends an intelligent being/ship/computer in the vicinity of Earth. This ship eventually becomes their orbital base, the Zodiakos Kyklos.

    1743

  • The Undying Tulku (Earth's Archmage) passes into senility and his apprentice, Ugyen defeats the Oriental magicians known as the Tong as proof to the Council of Magi that he is worthy. Ugyen (later called the Revered Elder) becomes the new Archmage of Earth's Dimension.

    1872

  • Tarus recruits the demons Ahrgash and Lohwegg as Gemini for the Zodiac.

    1889

  • The Revered Elder and Vincent Dimitrios defeat the Chernobog Demon in London, imprisoning it within a book.

    1899

  • Blade is born on Ean.

    1902

  • Lok-480 (who would one day be Cancer) crashes on Earth, and is immediately recruited into the Zodiac.

    1915

  • Brynhild Gunther is born in Germany, as the result of a tryst between a peasant woman and a supernatural being possessing the blood of ancient Norse deities.

    1916

  • Eric Wraith (who would one day become Dr. Wraith) is summoned by one of the Ancient Ones to its prison dimension, to become its apprentice (and one day allow it to escape).

    1917

    April 25th

  • The Atlantians see a submarine for the first time.

    December 13th

  • Albert Zerstoiten (Dr. Destroyer) is born.

    1923

  • The Revered Elder and Vincent Dimitrios face Tyrannon the Conqueror as he attempts to invade Earth's Dimension. The magicians trick him into swearing that he will not invade again while they are alive.

    1927

    June 27th

  • A family of Blood arrive on Earth at Leinster, Missouri. This group consists of Warrior, Pathfinder, Blade, Sala, Jilen, Affrighter, and Tyrkan. After a disagreement, Pathfinder slays Warrior in secret and the Blood go their separate ways.

    June 28th

  • The Council of Nine dispatches a Bloodletter, Vyss, to Earth to slay the renegade Blood. The Bloodletter arrives at Leinster mere hours after Tyrkan had burned it to the ground. The Bloodletter adopts a young boy named Kent, and adds the last name of Veiss.

    1929

  • DEMON is formally created in Salem, Massachusetts as a satanical criminal organization and cult, made up of wealthy businessmen and hired thugs.

    1930

    December 24th

  • Bloodletter corners Sala in Providence, Rhode Island. He is killed when the young Blood literally brings an entire city block down on him. Before he dies, the Bloodletter transmits some of his consciousness into the boy Kent Veiss.

    1931

  • A man known only as the "Tennessee Torch" (Actually Tyrkan) burns huge amounts of that state.

    1935

  • The villain Edward Vandaleur lures Vincent Dimtirios to a sunken alien city off the eastern coast of the United States. There he shows him an ancient, mystical pendant that he has found that will unleash the race of the Elder Worm (also called the Ancient Ones) once again upon Earth's Dimension. He then threatens to release the evil forces unless Dimitrios becomes his personal slave forever. Dimitrios agrees, but then tricks Vandaleur and causes his defeat, as well as the apparent destruction of the amulet.

    1938

    February 15th

  • Unknown hero foils presidential assassination attempt.

    February 16th

  • What becomes known as the Super Soldier Formula is created by Dr. Sebastian Radcliffe, who later adopts the identity of Dr. America. The most famous survivors of this program are heroes Hunter and Lady Victory.

    May 8

  • The Liberty League's first mission, in which they stop a Nazi spy ring in Connecticut. Membership includes Hunter (Leader), Lady Victory, the Star Spangled Hero, Billy Yank, and Dr. America.

  • Black Fin is expelled from the Kingdom of Atlantis. She refuses an offer to join the Zodiac

    October 9th

  • Supervillains threaten to destroy Boulder Dam. The Liberty League stops them.

    1939

    January 3rd

  • A merchant ship is sunk by a German U-Boat and crashes at the edge of the abyss. King Tritus asks the Atlantians to remain calm.

    January 23rd

  • The Fire-Watcher becomes Britains first superhero, battling spies and infiltrates on the home front.

    May 27th

  • Radiostar holds The Golden Gate Bridge for ransom. Vanguard and Vanguard Jr. defeat him.

    June 23rd

  • An unknown mastermind takes over control of the robot "Elektro" at the World's Fair. Via the newly premiered media marvel of "television", the villain threatens to destroy the centerpieces of the Fair, the 700 ft. tall Trylon and the 200 ft. tall Perisphere. The new heroine American Beauty destroys the rampaging robot.

    December 17th

  • British and Nazi supers battle off Montevideo resulting in the sinking of the Nazi battleship Graf Spee.

    1940

    January 7th

  • Dr. Qual and the SS Chief Heinrich Himmler nearly come to blows arguing policy in front of the Fuhrer at his mountain retreat in Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps. Qual is exiled to take command of the Nazi espionage activities in America.

    January 12th

  • UK heroes take to the skies to defend their capital in the first German air raid on London.

    June 4th

  • British and sympathetic heroes hold off the German Luftwaffe so that the evacuation of Dunkirk can succeed.

    June 22nd

  • Nationalistic French superheroes escape to England and the United States rather then become Nazi puppets.

    June 28th

  • US Congress passes the Superbeing Registration Act. It requires that all paranormal entities register with the government. New York Representatives manage to water down the bill so that Secret Identities and fingerprints are requested by not required.

    July 25th

  • Catherine Banks is rescued by Prince Tak'larren of Atlantis and taken to the Sirens. The Sirens extract a promise of a favor from the Prince before reviving Catherine and granting her the powers of the Sirens. Angered by the terms of their favor, Tak'larren spirits Catherine away and returns to Atlantis. The Sirens attack Atlantis and King Tritus is forced to exile Catherine to appease the Queen of the Sirens. Catherine becomes the superheroine Victory Siren.

    October 12th

  • British and Allied Heroes repel a Nazi invasion force from England in the aftermath of Operation Sea Lion.

    October 28th

  • Greek Heroes Marathon and Nike battle Italian villains Veltro and Decurian for the first time.

    1941

    March 3rd

  • The Liberty League battles with Kriegsmariner to prevent Axis ships from leaving US ports.

    March 11th

  • Several US superheroes volunteer for "Lend-Lease" to help Britain combat Axis super villains.

    April 21st

  • Greek superheroes go underground as Greece surrenders to Germany.

    May 11th

  • Numerous superbeings battle on the Duke of Hamilton's estate in Scotland resulting in the capture of German Deputy Fuhrer Rudolf Hess.

    June 22th

  • US "Lend-Lease" super heroes already in Britain volunteer to help USSR combat the Axis super villains.

    July 4th

  • FDR forms the Government Office of Super Heroes (GOSH). Nazi super agents attempt to place time bombs in the foundation of the Pentagon. Major Victory and others foil the plot.

    October 23rd

  • Angered by the intrusion of surface men into their realm, many Atlanteans revolt. Led by Princess Tak'rral they attempt to topple the monarchy. The Princess has supporters in the Elemental Church, and many suspect that the Church is providing the rebels with covert help in spite of its public declaration of neutrality.

    November 15th

  • Russian heroes General Mayhem, Captain Commitern, and the Bolshevik Boys, aided by "Lend-Lease" super heroes, beat back the Nazis at the gates of Moscow.

    December 7th

  • Japan launches a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. The first two waves strike with little resistance. The third wave of heavy bombers and marine invasion forces are turned back by the timely arrival of several American and Allied super heroes. The Axis units retreat under the protection of their own supers.

    December 8th

  • GOSH is overwhelmed by an influx of supers banding together to defend their country. Four GOSH teams are formed, imaginatively called Super Ops Teams A through D. The teams decide to call themselves the Defenders of Freedom, the Freedom Fighters, and the League of Champions. The fourth team is the previously independent Liberty League. The teams rosters are as follows: Defenders of Freedom - Major Victory, Minute Man, Vanguard, Vanguard Jr, American Beauty, & Giant; Freedom Fighters - Rush, Victory Siren, Peacemaker, Captain Atlas, & the Masque; and the League of Champions - American Eagle 1, Winger, Hyperion, Blackbird, & Liberty Belle.

    December 10th

  • An independent US hero team is formed to protect America: the Crimebusters. The Crimebusters are led by the heroine Shadow Cat. Other members include Fletcher, Saladin the Great, the Leaping Lizard, Knightowl, & Captain Future.

    December 11th

  • The GOSH teams see their first action as Axis supers attempt to destroy their headquarters.

    December 14th

  • Soviet Army and assorted allied superheroes turn back the Huns outside of Moscow.

    December 22nd

  • Canadian Supers prevent the kidnapping of Prime Minister Winston Churchill of England during his visit to Canada.

    1942

    January 3rd

  • The Defenders of Freedom and the League of Champions protect FDR and Churchill during their talks in Washington. Axis villains are driven off.

    February 9th

  • Nazi sabotage results in the sinking of the Normandy. GOSH forces clash with Axis villains.

    February 13th

  • Japanese supers, based on a submarine off the US West Coast, start a series of raids against American Industrial targets.

    February 18th

  • Blond Beard the Pirate ruthlessly sinks the French submarine Surcouf, then salvages it.

    February 19th

  • FDR signs Executive Order #9066, ordering the interment of Japanese-Americans. Madam Moonlight begins her one woman war against West Coast crime. While actually a hero, she is perceived to be a villainess by the press and authorities.

    June 21st

  • The Crimebusters battle Japanese saboteurs near Fort Steven's, Oregon.

    July 22nd

  • Public ID superheroes are issued X-cards allowing them unlimited gasoline.

    July 25-27th

  • American and Axis supers slug it out over saboteur drops off Long Island, New York, and Florida.

    October 2nd

  • The Liberty League protects the 1st US jet plane, the Bell XP-59A from Axis Saboteurs.

    November 30th

  • Axis forces launch of major attack on Los Angeles, including four submarines, a squad of bombers, and supers. They are repelled after a terrific battle by several of the GOSH teams and Madam Moonlight.

    1943

    February 13th

  • American Eagle 1 and Winger battle the Nazi villain Panzer.

    August 15th

  • A new allied hero, Hyperion, emerges from the mountains of Greece having defeated a squad of nazi soldiers.

    August 21st

  • The Masque battles the Japanese Tong, which is lead by the sorcerer known only as the Master. The battle takes place on an Astral Plane, and the Masque is defeated, only to be rescued by the Revered Elder. Although not wishing to be involved in WW2, the Elder had faced the Tong before and knew the Masque to be pure of heart.

    1944

    April 30th

  • GOSH Super Ops teams intervene when the Germans attempt to give the Japanese one of their U-boat's, the R-501, so that it can be copied. The heroes defeat the Nazis and their Ninja partners and capture the R-501 for the USA.

    June 13th

  • Nazi villain Condor Legionnaire makes his debut. Heroes take to taunting him by calling him "Doodle Bug".

    July 6th

  • Rush rescues untold numbers of innocents (mostly children) trapped in a Big Top fire at the Ringing Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus.

    September 8th

  • Allied Supers make a devastating raid on a secret Nazi V-2 base in the Caribbean. The base, near completing, would have been able to launch missiles at New York and Washington, DC.

    October 19th

  • Japanese superbeing, Divine Wind, leads the first kamikaze strike.

    1945

    January 24th

  • Blade meets Brynhild in a cave outside of Berlin.

    April 10-15th

  • Dr. Zerstoiten (Destroyer) attempts to escape to South America, but a British warship sinks the transport he is on. His face is badly burned in the fire, and is taken back to London.

    April 30th

  • Dr. Qual is allegedly seen fleeing Berlin. It is rumored that he fled to Argentina via submarine with a jar containing Hitler's brain, a ton of ill-gotten Nazi gold, and promises of forming a Fourth Reich.

    May 7th

  • Nazi Germany surrenders to the Allied forces.

    May 8th

  • Fire-Watcher retires.

    May 9th

  • Dr. Klakenhasen's atomic steam powered suit is found by the US Army and shipped to America. (This is the Juggernaut suit.)

    June 24th

  • Black Fin agrees to join the Zodiac, if they can help her repair her gills. She becomes Pisces.

    August 6th

  • Atomic bomb is dropped on Hiroshima. The Master is reported to be at ground zero, but is unscathed. The bomb explosion and the one in Nagasaki days later are reportedly the source of many mutants being born in later generations.

    August 9th

  • The second atomic bomb is dropped on Nagasaki.

    August 14th

  • Japan agrees to unconditional surrender.

    September 20th

  • All the GOSH super Ops teams are recalled to the United States.

    October 21st

  • Victory Siren returns to Atlantis and aids Prince Tal'larren in his struggle to keep his father in power.

    1946

    March 14th

  • Dr. Zerstoiten arrives in the US.

    June 12nd

  • VIPER is formed as an industrial espionage group.

    June 21nd

  • With the power of Victory Siren, the King's forces overwhelm the rebels and victory seems close. Faced with the prospect of defeat, Tak'rral strikes a bargain with a sorcerer of the Church and is transformed into a being of great power. Calling herself Red Tide, 'Rral is able to sneak into Atlantis and assassinate her father. Newly crowned King Larren banishes the rebels and marries Victory Siren.

    July 4th

  • Vanguard retires in favor of his son, Vanguard Jr. Now just called Vanguard, he becomes a force against the resurgent International Communist Conspiracy.

    July 8th

  • UNTIL is formed by the United Nations.

    July 9th

  • GOSH is deactivated.

    1947

    February 2nd

  • RAVEN is formed by a group of European Aristocrats.

    April 11th

  • Dr. Qual is tried in absentia at Nuremberg for crimes against humanity and is condemned to death. Sentences for most Axis supers tried as war criminals range from 2 to 20 years. Few are acquitted.

    June 26th

  • Red Tide begins to terrorize the Atlantic shipping lanes in spite of King Larrens forces.

    September 9th

  • Acquitted of many war crimes, Otto Skorzeny, former Nazi commando, and one of the architects of ODESSA, joins VIPER.

    1949

    August 4th

  • Dr. Zeristoiten leaves the US in anger at his fellow scientists and moves to Central America where he becomes known as Dr. Destroyer.

    1950

  • UNTIL provides a great deal of help to UN forces in the Korean Conflict.

    1952

    January 5th

  • Richard McLean (Phosphene/Phantasm) is born.

    1954

    January 26th

  • Blade and Brynhild are married.

    1955

  • VIPER, now a criminal entity of it's own, breaks away from many of its parent corporations.

  • Peter Morganthall is born. (Commodore)

  • Samuel (Sabre) Carstairs is born to Blade and Brynhild.

    June 26th

  • Affrighter attempts to kidnap Sala's first born child, Peter Morganthall. He gets a tenement dumped on his head for his efforts.

    July 17th

  • Jim (Spectrum) Sculley is born.

    1961

    September 10th

  • Sunwarrior battles Dreadnaught in New York. Tremendous property damage is caused and bystanders, including the parents of the future villainous Transmuter, are killed.

    December 23rd

  • Affrighter next goes after the first born son of Blade and Brynhild. Affrighter flees after sustaining heavy damage.

    1962

    May 10th

  • Winger becomes American Eagle 2.

    May 28th

  • Marie and Jacques Debray are born.

    August 28th

  • General Mayhem, the national hero of Russia, is reported to have died of a heart attack.

    September 6th

  • Mark Nine battles VIPER agents in Bristol, England. Five are brought to justice and their hijack plot is foiled.

    September -December

  • An internal war among VIPER fractions is waged, weakening the organization as a whole. It will take them years to recover.

    1963

    February 4th

  • The man who would be known as Dark Seraph (ironically yet another ancestor of Black Paladin and his witch lover) gains the Iron Crown of Krim in a vile, demonic ritual outside of London. He kills his entire coven of fellow-witches and warlocks and goes forth into the night to cause evil and destruction.

    October 4th

  • Steven (Muskateer) Harper is born.

    1964

    April 14th

  • The government android creation facilities of the super-soldier program announce a great breakthrough with the new Mandroid model. However, at the demonstration for various government officials, the androids go amok and begin to attack bystanders. Sunwarrior, hearing about the attack, comes to the rescue and destroys the androids.

    May 2nd

  • President Johnson gives his approval for the creation of PRIMUS.

    June 5th

  • The villain Mastermind attempts to use his mind control powers to take over and control the Democratic Convention. His plan is foiled by American Eagle 2 and Sunwarrior.

    June 17th

  • The Swordfish is launched by UNTIL.

    July 10th

  • As fighting in Vietnam intensifies, Sunwarrior leaves for Southeast Asia to help in the conflict.

    November 29th

  • Affrighter locates the long lost Jilen in Paris, France, and discovers that she has two infant children. Just as he attacks, the Bloodletter strikes as well. Jilen is killed by the Bloodletter, while Affrighter makes off with the two children.

    1965

    January 23rd

  • The Nightwraith battles a demon summoned by evil sorcerers. His old enemy, the Master, rescues him.

    February 10th

  • Congress forms Special American Tactics (SAT) to protect the US while PRIMUS is being formed.

    June 3rd

  • Sunwarrior returns to the US.

    October 31st

  • The Nightwraith mysteriously disappears.

    November 4th

  • The Minutemen form in Boston. The members are Lady Victory, Captain Star, the aging Thunderbird, and a 14 year old mutant speedster called Fleetfoot. They promise to "Be ready any minute that America needs us".

    1966

    July 18th

  • Dark Seraph attempts to takeover SAC in order to start a nuclear war between the US and USSR. He is stopped by American Eagle 2 and the Minutemen. American Eagle 2 joins the Minutemen.

    1967

    February 10th

  • The Circle is formed, and goes on its first mission against Dark Seraph. They are beaten badly by the villain and only nearly escape death.

    May 27th

  • The Bloodletter, having done some crimefighting to get himself into the public's good graces, reveals that the Blood are "insane alien mutants".

    October 19th

  • Black Phantom first appears to help stop a riot caused by racial unrest.
