Lost Heroes #47 - 49

"A Private Little War"

Spectrum's Comments: When we last left our displaced paranormals, a whole slew of new folks had just turned up out of the blue and the mystery aliens are on their way.

Lost Heroes #47 - "They're Here..."

While most of our displaced paranormals relax in the Lounge, others decide to do other tasks.

Number 6 stops at the Medical Sphere and mentions to Rem about Tarantula's behavior. Rem's face grows red with anger and she lets out a torrid flow of words.

Rem - "What do you expect Tarantula to feel right now?!? Of course he is having trouble dealing with what happened. You don't know what it is like having your body do things that you would not do like kill someone else. You have no right to try and judge him. Why don't you go and do what you should be doing like finding out how all these people are getting in our base with our precious force screens up instead of meddling in things that are none of your business!"

Almost immediately, Rem regrets her outburst.

Rem - "Oh god, I'M sooo sorry, Number 6. I didn't mean any of that. I should be grateful for you caring like you do instead of snapping like that. I guess all that has happened lately has been a lot for me as well as Tarantula. Maybe what we need is a change of scenery...."

Elsewhere, Outback has located the gym. He finds a large room full of weights and body building equipment. Contented, he starts to pump iron.

Warlock has likewise wander off. After a short time he locates the machine shop. He walks the area, eyeing all the equipment, like a kid in a candy store. After a time, he starts to collect pieces for his project.

Impact explores the mall. In a far corner of the place, he finds a sculpture shop. Inside, equipment can create 'solid light sculptures'.

Rem finally enters the lounge and meets the new arrivals. Doug continues to carefully eye his 'twin'.

Rem - "I've been thinking, Beth. We've been awake for a few months now and still know very little about what the world is like. Maybe it is about time that we did some exploring. Can you fix up one of those ships upstairs? Then maybe Tarantula and me and anyone else who wanted to come could go out and see what we can find while the rest stayed and took care of the place. What do you think? By the way, who is in charge here, you or Number 6? I don't remember anyone ever saying, but maybe it would be nice if everyone knew."

Down in the Power Plant, Number 6 and Fred work on the base systems. Some progress is being made. The base shields are currently running at 89% efficiency. Laser turret Number 1 is still at 92% Efficiency. Turret Number 3 is up to 41%.

Before to long, Fred has an update:

Fred - "Alien spaceship has reached Alpha Base. We are being scanned...."

GM Notes:

Now what?

I received Rem's actions via E-Mail, which is why she was so talkative this post!

Also, to my knowledge, no one is officially the leader of this band.

SUBJ: Number 6 FROM: Deslock 03/02/90 S#: 29164

"Well, things seem to be getting a little better around here, Fred."

I sit back and take a break from my various tasks. Wandering thoughts return to the confrontation in the med lab.

- I don't think I'll ever understand people. Don't think it's worth it. -

Hearing Fred's warning, I move to a communication station, and key up a base wide announcement.

"Looks like we've got company coming to call. One alien spacecraft heading our way, intentions unknown. Better be prepared for the worst."

"Remain here Fred. If there is a battle, you may need to perform damage control. I'll be upstairs in the main control room."

- More distactions from our real goal. We must find out what's behind our presence here. -

SUBJ: Roses are red... FROM: Bloodshard 03/03/90 S#: 831629

Bloodshard uses the machine at the mall to craft a rose for Beth.

"Hmmm... a lazer optic rose... how it flickers in the light", he chimes while crafting it. He heads up to the lounge to give it Beth on the way he stops to talk to number 6.

"Is there a way you can scan that ship back?"

"Have you guys checked out that sealed Genocide base, yet?"

-Bloodshard a.k.a "Impact"

Spectrum's Comments: Impact's actions are part of pattern that I'm beginning to notice. New player arrives and makes a pass at some female PC, she responds and then the new player mostly never follows up. What's up with that?

SUBJ: Number 6 FROM: Deslock 03/03/90 S#: 843772

"No, Bloodshard, we haven't looked into the Genocide base at this point. The last sealed area we entered, three of our number never left, so we're in no hurry to open up that can of worms. As for scanning capability, we have a fair amount. We tracked the course of a battle above the pole, the victors left behind this ship, apparently to explore. Let's see what we can determine about it."

"Computer, scan the approaching vessel. Convey any information as it becomes available. Take no hostile actions unless this base is fired upon, in which case execute full retaliatory capability."

SUBJ: Hearing is FROM: Yiseal 03/04/90 S#: 822907

believing!

When I hear that we have 'company' coming and that they may be hostile, I stand and activate my weapon and watch Doug. If he starts off in any direction, I will follow figuring he knows what this place can and can't do.

If the fighting gets down to us, or us up to it, I will attempt to change shape to match the attackers and attack them. This little bit of confusion should give our side a little help.

If the aliens come within visual range without attacking, I will change to match the one that appears to be leading them.

SUBJ: REM FROM: REM9 03/04/90 S#: 810362

"Boy just when we finally start to get to discussing things that need to be discussed, something else happens. We never get a break around here."

REM will open up her mind once again and try to reach the alien ship. If she can she will try and lock onto one of the occupants, and read his thoughts to find out the intentions of the aliens. Anything that she finds out will be telepathically relayed to Number 6 and Beth.

Spectrum's Comments: That's because the enemy of the game is deliberately trying to keep the heroes off balance. Keep them constantly busy so that they don't have time to dwell on what's going on behind the scenes.

Post Continued:

As Number 6 and the rest of you arrive at the Control Center, the computer already has the defense station activated.

"Scans are unable to penetrate alien force field."

Rem concentrates, but she too is unable to locate any of the alien minds.

"Receiving message from alien spacecraft, on audio."

The next thing that is heard is a high-pitched voice, speaking very poor English.

"Earthlings! Surrender your fortress immediately! As prisoners of war, you will be treated fairly. Surrender or face the consequences! We await your reply."

The speakers then go dead.

Spectrum's Comments: I don't think I had any more significant details about the war that had been going on in the background of the game. Typical for me. I don't do any more work then I need to. So, I had enough rough details about it in mind to use it and if the characters became more involved in it in the future, I would have filled in the missing pieces. They didn't, since the game only lasted about another dozen posts or so, so that particular event was never really fleshed out any further.

SUBJ: ?????? FROM: GM Yiseal 03/04/90 S#: 395019

'Earthlings? Now I know where I am at but how did I get here? Last I knew, Earth wasn't like what they say it is and I didn't know of any war.'

First words, "If there is a war on and there is a space ship up there, do you have a ship in which we can fight back in? I am a reasonably good pilot if you have one that works or can be made to work. Also how long are they talking about? Minutes? Centons? Micros? Kar dashes?"

SUBJ: WARLOCK FROM: DMG 03/04/90 S#: 801475

Hearing the announcement WARLOCKS smiles a grimly. He carefully places his ROBOT in a protected place and walks quickly to the lounge. There he will listen to what seems to be the general opinion. Of course he will have readied his GRAV GUN and SHEILD along with strapping his cannon to his side. He'll try to follow one of the PSI guys if they head up but will really follow anybody.

SUBJ: Beth

While still in the lounge...

'Well, Rem, we never really talked about anyone assuming a leadership role. Considering how many of us there are now, it might not be such a bad idea. Personally, I do not have the patience nor the wisdom for the task.'

'Instead of trying to fix up one of the planes, why don't we see if the one the first batch of robots used to get here? As far as I know, it should still be up in the forest?'

(This was waayy back in issue number 4, so if no one remembers, I'll understand!)

'Also, we were briefly in the Genocide section. That's where we encountered Solitaire.'

When presented the rose by Impact, Beth is genuinely surprised.

'Impact... I don't know what to say... I'll treasure it always.'

While staring into the rose, odd thoughts fill Beth's thoughts.

'While having faced the prospect of being among the last humans alive, the idea of becoming involved with someone had not occurred to her. Reflectively, there are attractive men around here...'

Beth forgets the subject when the alarm goes off. She quickly heads to the control center. Once there, she will take a position near the Defense Controls.

'Damn! Our sensors can't penetrate their shields... Try altering the scanners frequency... Perhaps a different frequency will penetrate their shields...'

Before that task can be down, the message from the aliens comes over.

'War? What war? This is essentially a ghost planet... Unless, these aliens are at war with the humans who went into space? That could explain a great many things. Sorry, ah... afraid I don't know your name... we don't have any operating ships that are equipped for combat. This base has weapons of it's own. As for the idea of surrendering... That'll be the day!!'

SUBJ: Number 6 FROM: Deslock 03/05/90 S#: 815836

"Can't say surrendering was on my mind. We don't have any operational aircraft at this time. We do have a number of devices that allow passage through the defense shields. Those of you who feel you may be of use on the surface can use them to go up there. I'll be operating the base's weapons from here. I'm assuming we were given five minutes, we'd better make the best of them."

SUBJ: Ohh goody! (R) FROM: Psycho Tim 03/06/90 S#: 98787

"Corr ech!" aliens little green men?!!"

After hearing this I run back up to the lounge and await battle orders. I'll go outside and defend the base.

SUBJ: BLACK TARANTULA FROM: AREION 03/06/90 S#: 844241

Back in his own quarters, BT is oblivious to all that is happening. Instead, he's wrapped up in his own little world. He strokes the top of a chest at the foot of his bed. A chest that hasn't been opened since he finished his fevered work in the machine shop what, now, seems like so long ago. So much has happened since then...so many shattered dreams.

BT's grief swells to anger and determination. With one mighty blow, he splits the hard oak cover down the middle. Tears streaming down his face, the one time detective gropes franticly for the chest's contents.

Mad see E-Mail for further details.

Mail From: AREION Date: Tuesday 6-Mar-90 21:50 EST

In relation to LH:

Well, I think I've let the campaign run YOUR way long enough! Time to throw a monkey wrench in the works again! ;>

BT's packing his s**t and heading out Life under this kind of guilt is crushing him...all he can think about is his need to get away. Of course, in his present state of mind he's not terribly imaginative, so his immediate destination is highly predictable...the Spider-Shrine.

Once there, he'll start to rebuild a section for him to live in. (You did say he could leave any time I wanted?)

BTW - The contents of the chest, of course, is my new armaments.

Spectrum's Comments: Who do you think won this particular war of wills? Seriously, BT didn't do much the rest of the game. His personal plans kept getting interupted by the other events.

Lost Heroes #48 - "A Private Little War"

The aliens have arrived, demanding that you surrender Alpha Base to them!

Beth - "That'll be the day!"

Number 6 - "Computer, prepare all weapons systems. For those of you who wish to go outside and engage the aliens, there is a way."

Number 6 points out into the Hanger Bay. (The Control Center is located along one wall of the Hanger Area, thirty feet up.) You can see a series of stairs and catwalks leading to the retractable bay doors in the ceiling.

Number 6 - "That leads to an access hatch. Follow that and I'll lower the shield around the door opening permitting you to get outside."

Beth - "Hurry!"

Upon learning of your decision to cooperate, the aliens reply: 'Then perish!'

The aliens fire a volley of laser beams. The entire base is rocked by the attack.

"Shields weakened", the Computer reports, "but holding."

Number 6 - "Fire all weapons!"

The two active laser turrets fire on the invader. Invisible shields surrounding the ship begin to glow under the base's attack. On the view screen, the alien ships backs off.

Beth - "We did it!"

Number 6 - "This isn't over yet."

Half a dozen missiles are fired from the space ship. Again the entire base is shook. Most are knocked off of their feet.

"Shield integrity down, but still holding."

By now, those of you who are going out to fight the invaders are exiting the access hatch. You find yourselves on a large, level surface. The area around the base is mostly desert, except for a small section of forest that seems oddly out of place. As you prepare for the battle to come, a hatch opens on the space ship. Objects begin to pour of out. When they get close enough, they appear to be miniature attack robots. About the size of a basketball. They fly to the attack, blasters firing!

Back in the Control Center, Rem picks herself off of the floor. Something odd on a monitor near her catches her attention. A message was burned into the screen centuries ago. It read, "Alpha Base, this is Gamma Base. The last shuttle has departed. We cannot reach Mindkeep. Can you-".

But that isn't the strange part. That particular message had been seen before. However, new words were forming on the screen....

Need Help?

GM Notes:

Plenty of action this time out! When you post, please include your location. Whether you're in the Control Center or outside facing the attack robots.

Now what?

Spectrum's Comments: This is probably the first appearance anywhere of the CII security drones that show up frequently in the Scarlet Sabre series. Also, I think the mystery typer was Albert who appeared much earlier in the series.

SUBJ: REM FROM: REM9 03/08/90 S#: 16306

Seeing the message appear on the screen, Rem starts typing on the keyboard before her.

"Me personally, no. But our home is under attack and I think that we could use some sort of help. I don't know too much about the new people, but I don't know if anyone here can fly, let alone stop the missiles that they are shooting at us. Why are you offering any? Hey, who are you by the way?"

As she is typing she will call to the others, "Hey guys there is someone else out there and they want to know if anyone is home? Do I ask for their name and number and tell them we will get back to them later when we are more free or tell them to come over and we will have a party?"

SUBJ: WARLOCK (R) FROM: DMG 03/09/90 S#: 837645

As soon as the fighting starts WARLOCK will be outside. For attacking the little robots he'll use his GRAV GUN while for defense he will put on his FORCE FEILD and use his teleporter to hop around the battlefield. WARLOCK will help out anybody that needs help and if anyone is badly wounded teleport them to safety.

SUBJ: Doug Ballant FROM: Shadeblade 03/09/90 S#: 839746

At the first announcement of the ship, Doug slipped away from the group. Later, he rejoins the group in the hangar bay, ready to take to them surface. He seems disturbingly calm, but with the fires of determination burning in his eyes. His sword now rests in a scabbard on a belt, both made of well-worn leather.

"This should be interesting to say the least. I guess we will be finding out a lot about each other in the next few moments. May luck be with us!"

He then jumps to the catwalks, opening the way for those following. On reaching the surface, he quickly looks about to check if everything is clear. Then he clears the exit for the next person.

"Great landscaping. The no-maintenance style. Those trees sure seem odd, though..."

He then spots the spacecraft, disgorging its supply of deadly messages. He makes note of it to everyone else, just to save them the short search.

"There's the party-crasher over there. Time to rock!"

If the range isn't impossible, Doug will dump all of his power into a Force blast on the mother ship. If no target is in range, he will put up a Force wall to give cover and let people prepare. If it looks like the droids have a better range, he will keep up his personal field about half and fire Force blasts with what power is left. If Doug's range is better, he'll try and take out as many droids as he can at full strength 'blasts.

Spectrum's Comments: It was probably covered earlier but the area was turned into a desert during the great disaster. The oddly out of place forest was an initial terraforming effort.

GM Notes:

As Rem types away, replies are quick to follow: "I'm a friend. I want to help you."

Spectrum's Comments: Does anyone really believe that?

SUBJ: Beth

'There's a what, Rem?!?!?'

Rushing over the consol, I can see what Rem is talking about.

'Kind of odd for someone to contact us at this particular moment, isn't it? Personally, I have no desire to be indebted to some unseen stranger.'

Beth will then return to monitoring the battle upstairs.

GM Notes: Tarantula

Traveling through the tunnel to the surface in the biosphere, you come up in the forest about the same time as the attack begins.

Now what?

SUBJ: REM FROM: REM9 03/11/90 S#: 417325

"So what do you want me to tell them Beth, 'No one is home right now, call back later'? I don't know if I am right or not, but what if there are more ships like that up there? Maybe we can take out one and possibly two, although I feel as useless as a dime without a pay phone to put it in, but if there are more don't you think we should at least find out who this is and how they intend to help?"

REM will wait for Beth's response and tell the caller whatever she wants her to (in REM's unique style of course).

SUBJ: Number 6 FROM: Deslock 03/11/90 S#: 419153

"Beth, since the outcome of this battle is unsure, it might be best to bring around the other six popsicles in the Med lab. If the aliens overrun this base, I doubt they'd receive kind treatment. Best to get them in a condition to move."

I'll see what I can do about jamming any transmissions. This ship was part of a larger fleet, and I wouldn't want the rest of them to show up.

I'll get on the intercom to Fred. "Fred, see what you can do about strengthening those shields."

SUBJ: Quiet, Calm..... Deadly (R) FROM: Yiseal 03/12/90 S#: 43035

Seeing the droids coming at us, I open up with my weapon into a group of them. I will continue this until my weapon can't fire any more or the attackers are repelled.

SUBJ: KICK BUTT! FROM: Psycho Tim 03/12/90 S#: 421340

"A rumble! Your lookin' for eh?" Taking out my machete, I start chopping away at as many droids as I can. But looking around as I fight, I look to find a big object to chuck at one of the ships.

SUBJ: Beth FROM: Schar 03/13/90 S#: 827942

'Agreed, Number 6. I'll get right on it.'

'Rem, I'd suggest trying to find out more about who this person is before we do anything. Computer, where the is the messages on the monitor coming from?'

Afterwards, I'll head down to the Med lab and prepare to awaken the sleepers.

SUBJ: Well if I must... FROM: Bloodshard 03/13/90 S#: 424057

Bloodshard emerges from the doors and yells to the group.

"I'm going for inside of the ship. There's got to be controls to the weapons... or people controlling the weapons, that we can...umm...turn off. My best area is physical combat. If any of you have energy defense I'd be honored if you'd help accomplish this task."

Bloodshard then heads for the ship. He attempts to engage physically, then at a distance. He heads for the ship directly, trying to get inside.

-"Impact" a.k.a. Bloodshard

SUBJ: REM (R) FROM: REM9 03/13/90 S#: 427067

Listening to Beth's words, and remembering a scene from a certain movie, REM once again starts typing.

"Alright just who is this? What is your operator number? Who gave you permission to use this channel?"

SUBJ: LORD LUNATIC- Victor Feury FROM: NightStlkr 03/14/90 S#: 799092

Once outside of the base, the Mystic Knight stands ready, with Phoenix Sword already in hand.

"Getting to yonder vessel should not be too difficult a task. Come, Impact; we shalt confront our sky borne foes as a united front."

Leaving the others to battle the approaching robots on the ground, LORD LUNATIC raises his Phoenix Sword into the air while grabbing IMPACT with his free arm. The sword begins to blaze with Mystic Flames as they soar up into the air.

Once/if we reach the ship,Vic will use the sword's Flaming Blade to try and gain entry.

If the ship should attack before then Vic will attempt to Missile Reflect it back to its source.

Lost Heroes #49 - "A Private Little War: Part Two"

The aliens have attacked Alpha Base. The inhabitants prepare to return the favor.

Inside the Control Center:

Number 6 - "Beth, we should wake up the sleeping scientists. Just in case things don't go the way we planned."

Beth - "I'll get right on it."

Beth quickly makes her way down to the Med Sphere.

Number 6 - "Fred, see what you can do about the shields."

Fred - "Working on it."

The computer continues to fire the laser turrets at the alien ship. Another missile is fired from the space ship. The impact on the base is tremendous, scattering everyone like ten-pins.

Fred - "Shields holding. Their shields are too strong. Our weapons cannot penetrate them. Do you wish to increase power?"

Nearby, Rem continues to speak to the mysterious writing on the monitor. The computer cannot detect where it is coming from.

Rem - (Typing) "Alright, who is this? What is your operating number? Do you have clearance to use this channel?"

The response is quick in coming: "Jest if you wish. Someday you will need my assistance desperately. Then the price will be high...."

Then the screen goes blank.

On the landing pad, on top of the base the others are engaging the attacking 'bots.

Lord Lunatic scoops up Impact and flies towards the mother ship. The 'bots fire as they streak past, but miss.

Outback swings his machete, putting a large hole in one of the 'bots. The following swing destroys it.

Doug concentrates, sending a force blast at the mother ship. It hits, but doesn't have the power to damage the vessel.

The Man-with-no-name brings his hand cannon into play. The barrel of the cannon silently slides out. Pulling the trigger, he proceeds to blast away at the 'bots. His first blast puts a 'bot down in flames. Another soon follows.

The 'bots swoop in, firing. Several heroes are hit, but none take any serious damage.

Warlock fires his own gun, destroying another 'bot.

The 'bots withdraw and regroup. Half of their number has gone down. Only five remain.

By now, Lord Lunatic and Impact have reached the mother ship. They spot an airlock and approach it. Impact rips the hatch open and they enter.

They find themselves in a 30' wide circular room. Five hatches lead out of this area. They are located at 2,4,8,9, and 10 O'clock.

Elsewhere, Beth has reached the Medical Sphere. Working quickly, she begins the revival process. While the computer handles the waking process, Beth moves to a secured safe. Inside the safe are the 6 vials of liquid. The vials that will finish the waking process.

The glass panel slowly slides up and the tray begins to slide out, presenting the vials. Beth moves towards, just as the missile hits. The entire base is shook. Beth trips, falling to the floor.

The vials teeter on the edge of the shelf... And fall.

A look of horror comes over Beth's face as the vials plunge to the floor.

From somewhere inside her mind, something strange happens. Beth wishes that she could somehow stop the vials... And three of them do.

They come to a sudden halt, floating in mid-air. The other three hit the floor and shatter. Their life giving liquid splattered.

GM Notes:

I was beginning to think that you we're never going to wake up the Popsicles!

Number 6, here's what Fred meant about increase power to the turrets. They are currently working at the 'safe' level. You can increase power, but at the risk of damaging the turret. In game terms, it's a burnout.

At the moment, the turrets fire 10d6 EB's. Pushing it to 12d6, gives the turret a burnout roll of 14-. For every two dice added, the burnout roll increases by 1. The maximum EB that can be fired is a 22d6, with a 8- Burnout roll.

Hero Status:

Name Stun

Outback   44 of 53
Doug   24 of 33
(Yiseal)   35 of 42
Warlock   25 of 31

Oh, and Yiseal, thanks for your kind words. And, no, I was not trying to butter you up! ;)

Spectrum's Comments: As a parting gift from Solitaire, Beth was given rudimentary mental powers. Of course she found out about them the hard way! It did freak her out a bit!

My little note to Yiseal involved me becoming a comped GM. I had finally recieved my GM name and was able to enter into the private area reserved for our little band. On the message board in that area I found an old message from the head of this area asking for opinions and info on those who had applied to be GM's. Yiseal wrote about how I helped him make his Champs character in a chat room (he had no knowledge of the game system) and was generally very helpful. Of course, he didn't know how eager I was to get out of that chat room as it was costing me money!

SUBJ: "Well, Luney." (R) FROM: Bloodshard 03/15/90 S#: 832055

Impact looks admirably at Lord Lunatic.

"Good flying. You do that often?"

The orange skinned man gives a quick grin.

Well, we got's to find the controls to those missiles before the last survivors aren't surviving any more."

"Well, we got two options, we can stick together for safety sake, or speed up for speeds sake."

Impact tenses as the sound of an explosion from the base sounds.

"I don't know which you want to do, but we got to hurry."

"This door seems like a good 1st one to try..."

Impact enters the door at 10 o'clock. If it's locked he busts it open.

-Impact

SUBJ: WARLOCK FROM: DMG 03/15/90 S#: 433870

Seeing two of us reach the mother ship hope surges through WARLOCK. Now that he is hurt he will still fight but use his rocket launcher on the group of robots. If they come closer though he will switch back weapons and teleport behind the enemy. If things get really ruff he'll teleport out of the fray and rest up a bit.

SUBJ: Number 6 FROM: Deslock 03/16/90 S#: 102245

- Well, two of our team reaching that vessel is a mixed blessing. I'm going to have to be careful with this next shot. -

"Fred, run one of the lasers up to maximum power. Let me know when it's ready."

While Fred is adjusting the one laser, I'll use the other one to play 'missile command', attempting to blast any incoming missiles before they reach the base. Once the juiced up laser is ready, I'll take some extra time to line up a shot at the alien's engines.

- This shot had better do something, or we're in a lot of trouble. -

If the laser should survive (which I doubt), I'll have Fred reset it to normal, and see what effect our lasers have after we (hopefully) poke a hole in their shields.

SUBJ: Outback FROM: Psycho Tim 03/17/90 S#: 440729

"Ouch! That smarts!" saying this, I sheath my machete, and pick up a rather large boulder (one that I can throw) and try to chuck it at the ship that Impact didn't go in." The lasers aren't doin' nothin' but maybe old fashioned Brawn will!"

Also, I try to look for a weak spot in the shielding of the vessel.

SUBJ: Doug (R) FROM: Shadeblade 03/17/90 S#: 472979

"Great! They made it in. I hope they can get something done..."

Noticing no effect from his shot on the main ship, he concentrates his effort on the few remaining attack droids. Doug puts up a Forcewall 5' high and as long as possible at half strength.

"Guys! Use the wall for cover and shoot over it. I'll keep it up as much as I can. It might not stop their shots, but it'll sure as H**l slow them down."

The rest of his strength he puts into Forceblasts, taking the best shots presented.

"The sooner we cut these little twerps down, the sooner we can see about helping Impact and Vic."

SUBJ: LORD LUNATIC- Victor Feury FROM: NightStlkr 03/17/90 S#: 477470

The Mystic Knight simply returns IMPACT's grin and replies: "As often as I find it necessary, my friend."

"Aye, Impact. T'would be better if we split up; time is of the essence here if we wish to save our allies below, as well as the base."

Before the two part, LORD LUNATIC grasps his teammate by the shoulder.

"Good luck to thee, my friend."

Vic clutches tightly at the hilt of his mystic sword; his eyes retaining that same insane, violent flicker as he enters the hatch at the 4 o'clock position.

SUBJ: Beth

Not quite understanding what has happened, I'll reach for the 'floating' vials. At least we'll be able to wake 3 of the scientists.

'Computer, stop the awakening process. Leave them in suspended animation for the moment.'

Then I'll contact Number 6, explain what happened. Afterwards, I'll punch up the formula for the vials. If we have the materials on hand, I'll start making more.

More GM Notes:

Outback studies the other ship, but cannot stop any weakness.

Also, the mother ship is the only real space ship in the area. It is also quite large, 96' wide and 192' long. The attack 'bots fly and are only 2' in diameter.

After separating, Lord Lunatic and Impact each enter a different corridor. Impact's corridor leads off to the right. It goes 30' ends, with passage going left and right at the end. There are 5 doors along the way, 3 on the right, 2 on the left.

Lord Lunatics corridor leads away slightly to the right. After 25' feet it ends at a door. There is another door halfway down the corridor on the left hand side.

The door on the left opens, and what appears to be a humanoid man steps into the corridor. He turns, walking towards the far door. He doesn't appear to notice Lord Lunatic.

The Computer informs Beth that the revival process cannot be stopped. It would be fatal to the Popsicles if it was.

Also, the formula cannot be duplicated. It is linked to how long the Popsicles have been sleeping. Like fine wine, the formula must be as 'old' as the Popsicles. You could make more of the drug, but it wouldn't work.

SUBJ: No name FROM: GM Yiseal 03/18/90 S#: 78480

I knew I should have went to biology classes when I had the chance but I chose instead to go out with Corania. Oh Corania why did I dump you?

Being the normal person I am, I keep behind the wall that is being projected and take the shots as they present themselves. When it comes to a point where we can go to hand-to-hand, I will grab hold and attempt to smash them.

SUBJ: Number 6 FROM: Deslock 03/18/90 S#: 467018

Hearing Beth's news, I quietly curse myself.

- What a fool! I'm doing more damage than the aliens. Too late for that now, a decision must be made. -

"Beth, as I recall, we have a Terraformer, Botanist, Engineer, Soldier, Geologist, and MD in cold storage. We certainly don't need a soldier telling us what to do, and, of the others, I'd judge the Engineer and MD most expendable. We have those areas pretty well covered, while we have no one, to my knowledge, with the skills of the others. I'd bring around the Terraformer, Botanist, and Geologist. Make the passing of the others as painless as possible."

- This stunt with the laser had better work, I have a score to settle with these b*stards, and I mean to settle it. -

SUBJ: So many doors, so little time... FROM: Bloodshard 03/19/90 S#: 60830

Bloodshard, unaware of Lord Lunatic's current situation looks at the doors. Without contemplation he enters the one farthest to the left.

"Why not?", Impact mutters.

-Impact a.k.a Jack Bloodshard

SUBJ: Beth

'I--I-- don't know if I can... We're dedicated to saving lives, not...'

No, I won't accept this. There must be an alternative. What if--?

'Computer, would it be possible to use the re-write on the scientists? Filter out what is killing them?'

GM Notes:

Impact opens the door and enters a 10' square room. Except for a bed, table and chair, the room is empty. It doesn't appear to have been used in quite sometime. There is another door, opposite of the door entered.

The computer replies, 'Working on problem' to Beth.

Black Tarantula Moves:

Tarantula freezes as he watches the others battle the robots. A sudden crazed look flashes a crossed his eyes as he charges one of the remaining robots. He leaps flips in the air and tries to land in a straddle position.

If successful, BT embraces the front end of the 'bot in a bear hug and will pull up...HARD! (Attempting to force it to fly him up to the ship, or at least close to it.) ..Yelling 'YYYEEEEEHHAAA!' all the way.

BT will try to maneuver it into a collision course before leaping for the ship.(If it starts to resist my guidance before I can reach it, I'll make a mad leap for it...BT will try to refrain from using any obvious 'Spider- Powers' [Clinging...Webbing...ect] unless necessary as the others wont be likely to recognize him in his new armor.)

Once there, BT'll run across the top of the vessel, dealing with any gun turrets, antennas or any other protruding technical appearing devices with his sword (+HA) or brute strength. If the ship should go down, BT will bail out (using acrobatics & swing lines to break his fall) and disappear.

SUBJ: Doug FROM: Shadeblade 03/20/90 S#: 452783

"Can anyone out here get us on that ship after these violent basketballs have been slam dunked? I have a terrible and unfounded worry that Impact and Vic will need some help. If only the thing would get close enough to board..."

Doug then continues blasting at the droids, hoping to end it all quickly.

SUBJ: LORD LUNATIC- Victor Feury FROM: NightStlkr 03/21/90 S#: 511992

The Mystic Knight stands silently in the corridor watching the man with silent fury burning in his eyes; straining at the leash to just leap from the shadows and overtake him. But common sense manages to override his mentally deranged tendencies.

((No...I mustn't lose control...not now...T'would be better to just follow him to wherever he is going. If I am to engage these cretins in combat, there is no sense in battling one lone foe; This one should lead me to more of mine enemies.))

LORD LUNATIC clutches his Phoenix Sword as he does his best to shadow the man, following him to where ever it is he is going.
