Jylsera

The ladies name is Jylsera and she's quite nasty! Jylsera hails from the most recent D&D game I was running live just within the last few years. This was a solo game with Muskateer as the only PC. Much of this game took place in what's become my standard D&D setting, the world encompassing the Kingdom of Cynalon. Coincidently, Cynalon was founded by a different Muskateer PC way back in the 80's, so there is something of a loose common history in all of my D&D games. These games were also set in TSR's Known World as far as maps and other civilizations go. As is my habit, I kept what I liked and discarded the rest. Some of that setting has been used as the world of Terra Nova in the files on the website.

The campaign that Jylsera is in had taken several unexpected twists and turns. Jylsera started out as a pirate but has become something far more. At the present Jylsera has taken to calling herself Admiral and commands a small fleet of ships. She is currently engaged in a war to free the Pearl Islands from a Thyatian Occupation force.

In addition, Jylsera has discovered several very shocking things about herself. Among these is that she has lived several other lives in the past. The most recent life being an Admiral in the Alphatian Navy named Nylsara. Jylsera was been quick to take advantage of things that Nylsara did for her own ends. Her current command ship is the Carnelia, which Nylsara built over a thousand years ago in the past.

Even more surprising, Jylsera has discovered that she is the daughter of the world's Goddess of Magic and a powerful sorceress in her own right. In addition, she has lived other past lives, including Rasara who was the Queen of a province in an ancient empire of Nithia that was cursed by the gods and all but forgotten. There is a prophecy that Jylsera will participate in events that will cause the Nithian Empire to rise again.

The above is very much the Reader's Digest version of the campaign. It is easily the largest and most ambitious game I have run to date. If anything else happens in this particular campaign remains to be seen. The picture below was done in just the last few years and is easily the newest one in this gallery. It was colored on the computer.

For the curious, Jylsera was designed using 2nd Edition AD&D with the Skills and Powers options. She is currently a 9th level Fighter/21st level Enchantress. Stats are Str: 13 Dex: 18 Con: 17 Int: 19 Wis: 13 Chr 18. Yes, it is good to have a Goddess for a mom when it comes to stats!

The above pic incorporates some of the elements of her old naval uniform. Primarily the pants and the blouse, although I doubt that either are regulation when worn that way!
