Whitney Parks is a normal woman who engages in regular exercise. She is a trained Private Investigator who has taken self-defense classes and weapons instruction.

Notes:

Whitney Parks first met James Sculley while the two were attending UCLA. The two dated for a time and continued to see each other after graduation. Jim had taken journalism in college and became a reporter for the Los Angeles Times. However, his long term goal was to become a writer. The situation soured and the couple ended up just drifting apart. Whitney began her career as a Private Investigator and Jim tried his hand at being a writer.

Years later, Jim showed up mysteriously on Whitney's doorstep unconscious. Whitney took him in and discovered that he had amnesia. Jim has lost nearly 18 months of his life. With Whitney's help, Jim started to put his life back together. In the process, the two started to fall in love with each other again. Jim seemed like a very changed man.

Or so Whitney thought. Being a Private Detective, it was only a matter of time before Whitney deduced that Jim Sculley and Spectrum were one and the same. When she confronted Jim, he denied it. Hurt and confused, Whitney asked Jim to leave. She felt that he didn't trust her.

Later when Jim's father had disappeared, Whitney went to see how Jim was doing and if she could help. Slowly, the two started to see each other again.

Shortly after this, Spectrum was arrested for the crimes committeed by someone impersonating him. While in custody, Jim called Whiteny since he had no one else to call. Right after that, Morning Star showed up on Whitney's doorstep. The heroine was also investigating this strange turn of events in the leader of X-Factor. With the aid of Nightingale, it was discovered that Jim was under several post-hypnotic suggestions that were controlling his actions. One such command was to not reveal his Spectrum Identity to anyone. Nightingale removed this brain washing.

Relazing that Jim was not responcible for his past actions, the two completely made up. Then Whitney was kidnapped by Hexmaster, the villain who had originally kidnapped Jim and changed him into Spectrum. Whitney was going to be used against Spectrum, but X-Facter intervened and stopped the mad villain's plan.

After this, Whitney and Jim started to see each other regularly. One Private Investigations contract for Henderson Electronics took Whitney to San Diego to run background checks on new prospective employees. As a bonus for this contract, Whitney was invited to the grand opening of the Hentronics building in Los Angeles.

Recently, with Jim's assistance, Whitney attempted to trace a pair of missing newlyweds. They ended up in High Forks, California which had been secretly taken over by an alien race called the Howarians. The Howarians were alien canibals-- the missing people had been eaten! Whitney and Jim were captured and taken to an alien slaughterhouse. They managed to escape with the unexpected assistance of Starguard. The whole incident tramautized Whitney. This was far beyond anything she had to deal with before. It took several days for her to recover from the ordeal.
