All of Shockwave's super powers come from her armor. Her namesake ability is the power to induce a powerful shock wave into the earth or surrounding structures. The armor amplifies all of her physical abilities including granting her great strength. Shockwave's main mode of transportation is rocket skates built into the armor. She can generate small scale, but very powerful, shock waves with a touch of her gauntlets. Her helmet contains numerous sensory capabilities as well as the ability to make recordings of anything she observes.

Notes:

Sara Redmond was always extremely intelligent. She graduated school at an early age and was in college by the age of sixteen. The fields of physical sciences attracted her interest the most. After graduating from college, she was recruited by Advanced Technology Design, which was a secret subsidiary of Kord Industries.

Sara was happy with her job until the day she discovered that her designs were being used to manufacture weapons of mass destruction. An aborted robbery in San Diego had inadvertently led to the collapse of a small building. Several people, including children, were killed.

When Sara brought this to the attention of her supervisors, she was told to mind her own business. Incensed, she quit ATD and sued them for stealing her work. The case was thrown out due to lack of evidence. She has been unable to find work in her field since this incident.

Feeling responsible and obligated to make amends for the things which her technology had caused, Sara designed the Shockwave armor. Shockwave is a reluctant heroine who wants to put things right.

Working as a Hero for Hire with her friend Blizzard, Shockwave has been able to keep herself in enough money to maintain her armor. Sara is always adding new improvements and upgrades to the armor. She joined with her friends Blizzard and Spectrum as part of the hero team X-Factor.

Shockwave's armor was heavily damaged in a battle against Kilbots at PRIMUS Headquarters. Sara was forced to use spare Kilbot parts to try and repair her armor. The Scarlet Sabre brought a potential job offer from Lawrence Technologies to Sara's attention that she has accepted. Because of this new job, Shockwave has resigned from Heroes for Hire.

While testing a new security system at LawTech, Sara inadvertantly saw Impact and the Empress making out behind Blizzard's back. She wants to help her friend, but doesn't know if Blizzard will believe what she saw. Sara remains unsure just what to do about this situation.

Lost Heroes Notes:

In Lost Heroes, Shockwave was a member of the Avengers and was killed in the battle against Dr. Destroyer.
