Known Powers:
Sapphire is a member of a warrior race of aliens generally referred to as the Azurians. They are a tall, powerful race of blue-skinned humanoids whose culture revolves around combat. Sapphire is a mutant Azurian who is super strong, quick, and highly resistant to injury. She can see into the ultraviolet range of colors and leap as far as four football fields in a single bound.
Notes:
Sapphire lives for battle. Finding no more challenges on her home world, she traveled to the planet Malva to take part in its Great Arena. In a matter of months Sapphire was the undisputed champion. However, she heard tales of another champion who was also never beaten; a man called Firewing. Like the Champion before her, Sapphire became bored with no serious challenges before her. And like Firewing, she heard tales of an amazing world called Earth. As with Firewing before her, the undisputed champion of the Great Arena came to Earth to fight new battles.
By an arcane ritual Sapphire arrived on Earth. She was also given the ability to understand the Earthmen's tongue. Sapphire wandered for the time, seeking battle where she could. Eventually she was approached by a man calling himself the Gladiator. The two dueled for hours to a standstill. While far superior in strength, Sapphire could not match Gladiator's speed or skill. She could not hit him, while he could not harm her. Sapphire pledged her services to Gladiator. Never before had she been so humbled and desired to learn all that she could from this master of battle.
Gladiator took Sapphire to Sanctuary, a place where she could meet other super beings. Saph eventually joined the island's security force and participated in the Young Champions program. Recently, Sapphire dueled Firewing and was easily defeated. Undaunted, she'll continue to work and train until she feels confident enough for a rematch.
Sapphire comes from an alien culture, and, hence, finds life on Earth more than a bit odd. Things that seem normal to her are somewhat strange to her human companions, and vice-versa. Sapphire has a warrior's mentality and always seeks the most powerful foe in a combat situation. She fights an honorable battle, and expects her foes to do the same. Sapphire has much to learn about how to relate to humans.
In her effort to understand humans, Sapphire recently went on a double date with Charcoal. Turns out that her date was Obsidian from the Champions, another alien who is superhumanly strong. The two hit it off quite well.
Sapphire was created by Spectrum and drawn by Muskateer.
