Lightburst has powers involving the manipulation of light. His primary form of attack, and his namesake, is the Lightburst. This effect can both hurt and temporarily blind a foe. Should stronger measures be needed, he can produce laser intensity blasts. Other powers include flight, the ability to create light based illusions, a personal force field, and the ability to reflect energy attack forms.

Notes:

While in his teens, Seymour and some of his buddies were racing through the Colorado Rockies. They were out joyriding and not paying attention. Seymour ended up crashing into a truck carrying toxic waste and was completely covered. Miraculously, he survived and the toxins mutated his body. Seymour can manipulate light for a variety of effects.

Lightburst is a real head case. He thinks he's God's gift to women, loves public exposure, and is a generally obnoxious character. Several super-powered females are more than eager to bash his face in.

In spite of all of this, Lightburst has been a competent hero for many years. He is on his second go around with the Avengers and has been a member of the Guardians as well. Seymour still dabbles occasionally as a professional race car driver when the whim strikes him.

Recently, Lightburst was captured by the Morbanes Lady Darkness and Lord Evil and had to endure the cruelty they dished out. After two weeks of torturous treatment, he was rescued when the Avengers invaded the DEMON Base. 'Burst answered an emergency summons from Black Diamond and appears to have rejoined the team. He claims that the treatment he received from DEMON has given him much to think about and appears to regret the way he has treated people.

In actuality, Lightburst is now an operative for Lady Darkness inside the Avengers. He helped divert attention away from the robbery at CII so as to allow other operatives of the evil Morbanes to steal the final component for the Portal Device, the Energy Amplification Array. Lightburst also figured prominently in the capture of the Enchantress. When confronted by Muskateer, Lightburst revealed his true allegiance and fled.
