Known Powers:

Firestar is one of the Blood with the ability to project blasts of fire of varying intensities. She can engulf her body in fire damaging any who get to close to her. All of the above abilities can be used over a larger area, but to do so is very draining to Firestar. Other noteworthy powers include flight, the ability to switch between the clothes she is wearing and her Firestar costume, infrared vision, and the ability to rapidly heal while in physical contact with fire. Lastly, Firestar has a much higher tolerance to heat and cold than a normal person.

Notes:

Firestar is an orphan. Her mother died in childbirth while the identity of her father is guessed to be Tyrkan a Blood from the alternate Earth known as Ean who was mentioned in The Blood and Dr. McQuark Organization Book. Cassie was adopted and raised by the kindly Shepard family who lived in St. Louis.

One day, Firestar was approached by Black Diamond about joining the Avengers. Cassie was thrilled to meet her long time idol and eagerly accepted. Unknown to Firestar, there exists videotape showing her at the Avengers Mansion right before it exploded, killing Black Tiger and Sargon, and contributing to Hunter's eventual death. In time it was quickly determined that Firestar herself knew nothing of the incident and had not even been to New York before. Cassie herself remains unaware of the unusual circumstances around her joining the team.

Recently, Firestar has met her previous unknown family. She was recognized by Sabre of X-Factor as being 'of the Blood'. Meaning that Sabre, Satara, and Marie Debray are her cousins, while Blade and Bryn are her uncle and aunt. Firestar has a half-brother that goes by the heroic guises of Phantasm and Phospene, but the two have yet to meet.

A second personality, calling herself Starfire has begun to surface as well when Firestar is in very stressful situations. Starfire's powers are stronger than Firestar's, and she is more ruthless as well.

Cassie is currently dating Terra Fire from the Young Champions. The two met while attending classes given by Nightingale on Sanctuary Island.

The character of Firestar was created by Spectrum. Her costume is based on the AC Comics character Stardust and is rendered by Muskateer.

In the future, Firestar, while a member of the Defenders, is dispatched back in time by Tesseract to stop a plot by Timemaster. Her mission turns out to be to prevent Brimstone from luring the past Avengers away from the Mansion. He is attempting to ensure that the revised team is never formed.

Upon the traumatic death of her fiance Tremor, Firestar's dark side is unleashed. Calling herself Starfire, this new being kills several of her teammates with scant a thought. Blazing a cross-country path of destruction, Starfire returns to her hometown of St. Louis. Eventually, she is killed in combat by Muskateer.
