Earthquake is a mutant with the ability to manipulate the earth for a variety of effects. He can trigger miniature earthquakes, cause razor sharp stones to rise up, and launch rams of earth at his foes. He can also part the ground at while and even fly by willing a small island of earth to rise into the air.

Notes:

When he was growing up, Tony Amthor realized that he had a special connection to the earth. It wasn't until his mutant powers of earth manipulation started to surface that Tony found out just how special this connection was. He could telekinetically make the earth do his bidding. His interest in the earth lead him to study the earth sciences

Tony adpoted the identity of Earthquake to stop those who were harming the environment. He considered the vast oil fields in Texas to be a blight on the enviroment and worked to stop the earth's explotation. These views brought the young man into contact with the Earthmaster who shared a similar agenda. However, it quickly became apparent that the Earthmaster was insane as his attempts to protect the earth often involved harming as many people as possible. Earthquake turned on Earthmaster, and aided by several local heroes managed to drive the villain away.

The encounter with Earthmaster shook Terry deeply. While he was still greatly concerned about man's abuse of the environment, he wasn't willing to go to the extremes of Earthmaster. Instead, he would be more true to himself and become a hero and use this position to attempt to educate others. When asked to join the Superior Seven, Earthquake reluctantly accepted.

Earthquake was never the most popular member of the team, but that was not his intent. Being a member of the Superior Seven opened new doors to him and was given a form to share his views on the environment. Earthquake is a competent member of the Superior Seven and generally gets along with his teammates. He finds Centurion to be too violent for his tastes and his love of designing weapons bothersome.
